His Plans

The following day, Juliet left to the hospital with her second daughter Janet. She's happy when she found Selina, sitting comfortably on the sick bed.

" Selina!" She called and rushed into the room.

" Mother!" Selina said and opened her arms, to receive her mother's warm embrace.

They hugged happily and it was clearly showed on their face.

" Come here you little doll!" Selina said to Janet, who's smiling while staring at her.

She disengaged from the hug with her mother and hugged her little sister.

" Hope nobody trouble you at home." Said Selina.

" No one did." Janet replied.

" Am glad to hear that." Selina replied. " What of Nelson?" She asked.

" I don't know where he is, he left the house this morning." Janet replied.

" To where exactly?" Selina asked.

" I don't know big sis." Janet replied with a frown.

" Let's leave your brother and talk about something else. He'll always find his way home when it's time to do so. I want to ask you Selina, what really happened between you and your father?" Juliet asked.

" That man is not my father. As a matter of fact, I have nothing to do with him. He's a monster, a beast and a very foolish man.

I begin to ask myself how you even met him? What exactly draw you to him? And........." She drawled as words ran out of her mouth. " I don't know!" She added and raised her hands and begin to demonstrate, while speaking.

" Melody told me to ask him about the man whom he's talking with in the reception ground. The man had a mask on, and it's so surprising.

I mean, why would someone wear a mask to such an event? The most surprising thing is that, the moment he saw us coming, he took his leave.

I was kind of surprise and curious to know who the man is. So I asked him after he exchanged pleasantries with Melody, and the next thing he did was to drag me to the restroom, and tried to kill me. Who does that? For what exactly? A mere question?" Selina said.

" I guess he's drunk, cause the Donatus I know wouldn't do such a thing because of a mere question you asked him. I mean........" The woman said, trying to search for a better word to use.

" There's something fishy about that man mother. I don't like him." Selina said.

" There's nothing fishy about him. The truth is that you don't just like him, and I'm wondering why." Juliet said.

" Are you asking me why after what you saw me going through in his hands. Don't forget he's the reason why I'm here right now. Would you say this if I'd died?" Selina said.

" You can't die Selina, stop being negative to yourself." Juliet said.

"Let's be frank mother. This man tried to kill me, and you don't see anything wrong with it?" Selina asked.

" I have seen a lot of fault in it Selina, and we've talked about it. He apologizes and promise a change. Just give him a second chance. I know what he did was wrong, but please......" Juliet drawled and put her hands together.

" Just for my sake. Forgive him, he'll never try that again." Juliet concluded and Selina scoffed.

She couldn't believe that her mother could say such a thing. She begin to wonder if she's speaking with her right mind, or probably she's taken something.

" Am sorry to ask mother, have you started drinking alcohol?" She asked her.

" Why would you say a thing like that? Your father warned me of taking that, and I will never do it, no matter that he's no more. I made a promise to him and I stand by it." Juliet said.

" Nice!" Said Selina with a fake smile. " I was really thinking if you'd taken something, cause you surprised me with your choice of words." She added.

" I don't know how to make you understand this Selina. Donatus is a good ma..........."

" No it's fine!" Selina said interrupting her. " I understand, okay? No need pondering on it. But all I know is that we will set boundaries." She added.

" What boundaries?" Juliet asked with furrowed brows.

" He shouldn't cross my part and I shouldn't cross his part. Cause if that man crosses my part again, definitely mother, you won't like what I'll do." Selina said angrily.

" Donatus was right. And at this point, I think the right thing for me to do is to agree to what he said last night. My children will never accept him, but I'll surely make them to do so in the coming days. I should let them have some space for a while. That's the right thing to do at this moment." She said in her mind and nodded her head.

" Have you eaten?" Selina asked Janet after a while of silence.

" Yes! And we brought you food." Janet said and opened the bag she had in her hand.

" Wow! But I can't eat here. I'll do that when we get home." Selina said.

" But you've not been discharge? Will you remain hungry? You don't even know the day you'll be discharged." Juliet said in surprise.

" I'll be discharge today, weather they like it or not. I don't like this place. I feel like throwing up now, I don't like the awful odour I'm perceiving." Selina said with a frown.

" But what if they're not done with the treatment?" Juliet asked.

" They can do it at home. I mean, what happened to our family doctor?" Selina asked.

" Donatus dismissed him, cause he's suspecting him of having a hand in your father's death." Juliet said.

" What?" Selina exclaimed.

" That's it, but........" Juliet paused and continued. " Never mind, I'll get a new one."

" Better!" Selina said.

" Are you really serious about this?" Juliet asked.

" About what?" Selina asked, confused at her question.

" To be discharged." Juliet said.

" Of course I am, mother. You have to talk to the doctor, cause right now. I'm on my way to go." Selina said and Juliet nodded.

" Very well then. Janet stay with your sister, I'll be right back." Juliet said and stood up. " But you'll eat something at least." She said staring at Selina.

" I won't eat until I leave here. It's disgusting to eat in this kind of place." Selina said with a frown.

" Okay then, I'll be right back. Let me see the doctor." Juliet said and walked out through the door.

Juliet was able to convinced the Doctor to discharge Selina as she wanted. She's taken home that afternoon, and she had a great time with her two sisters after eating.

But she couldn't wait to see the monster, called her stepfather. If not for anything else, at least to spit on his face.

Meanwhile, Donatus was having a discussion with his very good friend at a bar.

He could be seen laughing and smiling with a glass of drink in his hand.

" So what about the plans you had. Are you still going ahead with it?" His friend asked.

" Of course i do. That's my priority Cecilia, and I can never forget that. You know how important you are to me, and I can never disappoint you. All I need to do is to get her children out of the way, and I'm doing just that." Donatus said and sipped his drink.

" Will that be possible? Don't forget it's their father's house." Asked Cecilia.

" I know, but it's my house now, cause I'm married to their mother who's my wife." Donatus said.

" What if things turn around. I mean......" She shrugged and continued. " What if they send you out instead? with her." He asked and Donatus burst out in laughter.

" Do you know that you're so funny Cecilia. I mean.......

Where did such question spring from?" Donatus asked.

" No I'm just asking, cause things like that do happen." Cecilia said with a serious face.

"Well, it won't happen to me cause I'm not stupid. I know how to set my plans and believe me. It will go as I wish. Don't forget, Juliet loves me so much and her children in turn loves her. Use your head girl!" Donatus said and tap his head slightly with his finger.

" I get you my love, I understand! Cheers!" Cecilia said and they click their glass of drink together.

" For success!"Cecilia said happily, before sipping the drink.

" Definitely!" Donatus concord. " Can I get a kiss?"

" Of course," she chuckled. " Why not?" She licked her lips while he leaned closer to her.
