I’m really mad at myself for being happy about the feeling of his body against mine, even slightly. Stupid heat. “People who hit Alphas don’t usually live little wolf,” he says staring down at me, “But yes, basically that’s the gist of it.” This closeness is not good enough, I need more. I’m losing my mind and this water isn’t helping much now that I’m getting used to it. I push my other hand up his wet shirt to land on his abs, “And what happens to the ones who sink their claws into them?” I lift my one eyebrow at him. He definitely flexed his abs, I felt them move under my finger tips. I start to move my hand lower but he catches that wrist too. “You don’t really want to do this Akira, it’s your heat. I’m not going to let you do something you don’t want to do,” he says softly, “It also explains why we’ve been, uh, attracted to each other lately, that’s how it works.” I pull my hands to my side and step out of the shower. Tossing Angs’ wet shirt off as I walk away and throw on whatever I have left to wear before he comes out of the bathroom.
I’m still feeling the pull, the need, the ache but my pride took quite a hit, so I welcome the pain. I get into bed as he walks out in a towel. Fuck me. He’s even more gorgeous wet, and his body is literally perfection. I noticed the scars he has marking his body as well, I wonder what they’re from. “I need to know where to do my laundry I’m running out of clothes,” I say tearing my eyes away from his body and grab a book to look at instead. “I’ll send someone over to take care of that,” he replies. “Anyone but that girl who drops off these books please, I can’t see her when I’m like this, she’ll just set me off.” I look up and he lifts his eye brow, “Not like that,” I roll my eyes and shake my head. Men. Right now I wish I was attracted to women instead. The ache is growing again but slower, “What did you mean it’s hard for you too?” I ask for the third time. He sighs, “Unmated males are sensitive to a females heat, they become extremely attracted and it’s hard to not help her with it, but yours seems to be stronger,” he was struggling to find the right words which was kind of funny but I didn’t let my amusement show on my face. I laid back in bed, trying to hint for Noah to leave. He walks to the door and says, “I’ll send a doctor over to help you,” he hesitates then says, “Akira I’m sorry if I offended you. I just wanted to give you all the information. You deserve that.” Then he left. It’s hard to stay mad at him when he puts it like that, but my pride is still hurt. “Star? Please answer me,” I beg. “I’m sorry Akira, I’m trying to push myself away so your emotions aren’t heightened by mine. I feel the heat too and I don’t want to cause you any more discomfort or make you do something you don’t want to do,” she finally replies. I do feel the ache even more so now that she’s back, “It’s okay Star, we can handle this better together than apart. We’re better together no matter what. Please don’t leave me again,” I ask. “Of course, I’m sorry if I scared you, I will be here for you always.” Star is the best. I really couldn’t be bonded with a better wolf.“I didn’t mean for everyone to see you but we needed to run, I needed the shift,” I say. “I needed it just as much as you, it felt amazing to run through a forest and feel the moon.” Stars memory of the feeling floods my mind in images. It helps take my mind off the ache but it’s definitely back full force. Not having a male near me seems to help, I think. I don’t know how this works exactly. I was tossing and turning for what felt like forever when someone walked in, “Hi Akira, I’m Dr. Zane, the Alpha sent me to help you okay?” He introduced himself. “No please, isn’t it bad to have a male around me right now?” I’m not taking any chances. I clearly can’t trust myself around men. “I’m mated already, 12 years now, so we will not be affected by each other I promise.” I take in what he says as much as I can, I’m in so much pain now I don’t even want to move from the fetal position I’m in. “I’m going to inject you with something to calm your body down okay?” He said. I just nodded my he
“What the hell happened in here?,” Ang says and sweeps the room and bathroom as per usual, but this time it definitely makes sense. The doctor is by my side in an instant picking up the IV stand and rehanging the bag. “Put that thing in me again, I dare you,” I glare at him. My claws digging through the blankets into the mattress. He takes a step back and lets go of the tube with the needle attached, “Akira, we’re only here to help, there’s nothing in this that can hurt you. If you don’t want it that’s completely fine, I will not force anything,” he says. I retract my claws. Two more pack members join us in the cabin, I’m guessing they called for backup. Understandable. I’m a wild, turned wolf they know absolutely nothing about. And clearly neither do I. “Star did we do this?” I ask her. “I’m not sure but I think we did, that blinding light Akira, that was from us. It may have caused this destruction,” she hesitates, “I feel your power more than ever now. It’s strong. It makes me st
“Star what do you think? This concerns you as well.” She’s quiet for a bit, “I’m not sure I want to give all information we have of us to them but we might also learn a lot from the transaction. I believe they have information we should know that they haven’t shared,” she says. I agree with her, plus I don’t think we’re going to get a better deal than this. I look to him, “Okay Noah, you’ve got yourself a deal,” I say and everyone stills immediately. Looking from me to Noah and Noah to me. He just smiles, the kind of smile a man at the poker table shares with his opponent after calling all in. I feel like I just made a deal with the devil and uncertainty crawls through my chest. “I’ll have the papers drawn up then,” he agrees. He looks to the man and woman behind him, that were called as backup, and they leave shortly after. Clearly a conversation I was not allowed to be a part of. I reach out for his emotions to see if I can get any information from it but I can’t feel an
I walk out to the destroyed cabin and find another bag of clothes waiting on the bed. I’m happy to finally have some clean clothes but I wish they were my own. “Beggars can’t be choosers,” Star says. “Any other words of wisdom almighty wolf?” I ask her. “Yes as a matter of fact, little mind reader I do. But now I won’t share them with you.” She huffs. “What did you just call me?” She doesn’t answer. “Star!” I yell out loud. “You read their minds, I’m not sure how yet but I’ve been thinking on it. And it reminded me of what happened back in the cell, how we heard the pack members going over plans, exit routes, torture practices, all of it.” I wince at the reminder of the things I don’t ever want think about again. “Your eyes were swollen closed, and all you were thinking about was how to get out and what they were going to do next,” she continued. “Star please get to the point,” the memory was too painful to look back on. “Why would they say those things out loud
I was brought into the Alphas office by his Beta and some other pack members, immediately I was stunned at not only how young he looked but how familiar. I’m not sure where I’ve seen him from, but it must be from my past life. He stares at me, hard. It seems as though he’s upset, but I’m not sure. “Who are you and state your business on our pack grounds” he says, not asking. “My name is Akira, and I would like to join your pack”, I kept my head held high, hoping he sees strength instead of desperation. The room grows quiet for far too long. I can see him sniff the air, “Not a rouge… what pack are you from?” he asks. Here we go.. “I’ve never been a part of a pack actually,” I hesitate to continue but decide honesty right now is my best option, “I was never born a wolf, I was turned.” There it was. I knew I was different but the faces of everyone in this room grew cold and confused. Assessing me as a threat I assume, because I’m as unknown to them as they were to me. Understandable.
I stare at him and decide I better just start talking, I need a pack. I can’t survive like this on my own, that much has been proven. “I was on my way home from a shift at the bar I worked at, not exactly in a great area but money is money right…. And well some drunk guy came up to me… I turned him down and of course he didn’t like that at all.” I said watching his reactions but he had absolutely none. He just sat there waiting. So I went on. “He was so strong. I couldn’t do anything, all the fight I had did nothing to him. He brought me to the back through the forested area and…” this was the hard part to say, “He took what he wanted from me and well, all I remember next was pain, so much pain I turned numb. I was alone in a forest beaten, bloody and dying.” He still just stared, no emotion. So I did the same. “And then”, he finally said. I didn’t want to continue, but if I had any chance of joining this pack I had to. The fear of what happened at the last pack was burning in my ch
I stared at him for a long moment, because my stubbornness from my human life seemed to transfer over into this one. “He wanted to run tests on me, see what I truly was.” Half of the truth but should be enough, I hoped. “So he took me prisoner instead and killed the couple that helped me, using the excuse that I was an enemy and that they gave me inside information. Which they didn’t. And I am not.” I said with so much anger. He stared at me but his eyes flashed down then back up. “Retract your claws Akira”, I looked down, sure enough I was digging my claws into the arms of the chair I was sitting on. I retracted them and went on with the story after I took a deep breath. “I escaped and ended up in your territory a month later. Your pack members caught me at your border and brought your Beta to me. Obviously you decided this interrogation wasn’t optional and I was brought here after trying to explain I am not a threat.” I lifted one eye brow to him. “Is that enough for you Alpha?” I
It was small, cabin like, just one big room with four walls, and a bathroom off to the side - absolutely no complaints from me. I have a bed, a small kitchen set up and a dresser for the five pieces of clothing I happened to have in my bag, which thankfully they gave back after obviously searching through it. I was so wired that I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep, then there was a knock at my door before it opened up and a random girl walked in holding papers and a serious scowl on her face. “This is your contract, and these are some clothes from our donation pile.” She threw a bag down I didn’t notice she had and then walked out. Clearly I wasn’t making friends here but I do not care. I don’t need friends, I need information. I picked up the contract immediately and looked it over. To summarize, it included a schedule that I couldn’t defer from or it would be seen as treason, I’d have some one always with me escorting me everywhere I go and if I am seen alone it will constitute as

I’m writhing around on the bed now, completely tangled in all the bed sheets and clutching a pillow to my stomach. “No, no it’s not like that. Fuck Akira this is hard for me too,” he growls like how Ang did, not menacingly. “YOU?” If I could laugh I certainly would. “Typically female wolves go into it when they’re younger or when they find their mate. It’s to ensure their lineage, the more pups the better,” he explains. I’m staring at him now in disbelief but that changes once I feel it, a pull so strong I’m already on my feet walking towards him. “Akira stop,” he holds up his hands. I force myself to take a step back. “How do I stop this?” I ask moving from one foot to the other, I can’t stand still. His eyes are fully black, “You mate,” he says through gritted teeth. “What? But I don’t- I don’t have one of those? Noah why are you acting like that?” I remember what he said now, “What do you mean this is hard for you too?” I try to reach Star to help give me strength, heal me or som
A hand is held out to me, Ang, in nothing but shorts he says, “Come Akira, let’s go back home.” I stare up at him, home. The word echoes through my mind. “Home,” Star repeats urgeing me to go. I take his hand and let him help me up. He gives me his shirt and I pull it on over my head. It smells good, like the forest and a hint of cinnamon. He catches me smelling it, I didn’t realize I had put the collar up to my nose to take in the scent. He laughs, “Do I smell good to you?” He smiles and winks at me. “Surprisingly yeah, but don’t let it get to your head Ang.” We start to walk back and I notice a couple more pack members emerge out of the tree line, two men and a woman. They must not have shifted because they still had on all their clothes, and it seems they’re speaking through mind link because it’s awkwardly silent as we pass them. I can’t decipher the looks they give me. They all escort me back to the cabin. “Im gunna be in so much trouble aren’t I?” I say to Star, she doesn’t rep
I rush to get ready, knowing Jack will be here for 6 a.m. on the dot. I’m incredibly nervous after what happened yesterday; they all saw it. I open the door at 6 a.m. and go to walk out and find Jack about to knock. He just glares at me for a moment, then turns and starts walking towards the forest, expecting me to follow. He doesn’t say a word the entire walk to the clearing. Once there, the day goes by exactly how the last training session went, with a couple of different instructions from Jack, but that’s it. He speaks as little as possible. I understand; people are afraid of the unknown. I’m afraid of the unknown. “You will learn, you will succeed, and you will survive.” Star states it as fact. I am strong. I am smart. And I will survive. I repeat my own mantra. On the way back, Jack speaks up as we’re almost back at the cabin, “You’re not trusted here.” He states it as a fact. I sigh, “I know Jack,” I reply. I go to walk into my cabin and hear him whisper quietly, threatening, “I
“That reminds me, I told you my name, now you have to share what your wolf has been saying about me.” I can hear his smile without even looking at him. I turn to sit on the bed and lean back onto my hands. “I said she was commenting, I never said she was saying anything about you specifically, ”I lift my eye brow mimicking him. He’s staring at me, but he crosses his arms and leans back against the counter. Waiting. “Tell him” Star says, encouraging me. “Nothings happening Star calm down it’s just shameless flirting.” She huffs, “Very shameless considering your attire.” Ouch. “It was said with love,” she adds. She clearly thinks she’s funny. “What’s she saying now?” He asks. I sigh, and he tch’s his tongue. I smile and notice he’s trying to hide his. “What do you want Noah?” I ask, pausing purposely. Then add, “Would you like to know what she said then, or what she’s saying now?” I ask as I pretend to pluck something off my bra causing his eyes to drift. “Your good,” Star comments,
