Chapter 6

After a few seconds of silence, Jeremy shouted angrily, "How much did that woman pay you? Is she trying to coerce me by acting dead? How disgusting!"

Smack!

Mr. Stonefield smacked Jeremy's face again, and shouted, "Go and look at the person lying inside, then!"

Jeremy seemed to resist the very notion of entering the morgue, but Mr. Stonefield strong-armed him into the room. The eeriness of the morgue made Jeremy shiver, and he hesitantly made his way to where my body lay.

My father, who had been waiting there, helped him lift the white cloth, revealing my deathly pale face.

Jeremy was unprepared for this sight, so he was shocked and stiff as he stared at my face. After a whole two minutes, he unfroze, as if he had an epiphany, and shouted, "Y-You got me! That makeup of yours is really convincing, but enough is enough! I'll let you off the hook, alright?"

As he talked, he even tried to shove my body.
