That was a beautiful, sunny day. Jeremy turned to look in my direction, before mumbling, “I miss you, Elodie… I want to see you…”

After he said so, he jumped out of the window.

Falling from a twelve-floor height, he died on the spot. All the police saw when they arrived at the scene was a body disfigured from the impact.

My father was finally able to find a shred of solace, but this dealt another heavy blow to Mr. and Mrs. Stonefield, drowning them in grief.

All I could do, seeing them crying so painfully in the morgue, was give them a helpless bow.

'In our next life, please let me become your daughter again so I can take good care of you.'
