Chapter 8

The celebrity stormed off, leaving Yoel and Elaine alone in the spacious private box. Silence hung heavy between them.

Elaine's voice trembled as she broke the silence. "Yoel, is Julianna really dead? Is that why all this is happening?"

She gestured towards the sinister words smeared on the white wall, guilt etched across her face.

I smirked, though they couldn't see me. ‘Don't play dumb. You know very well whether I'm dead or not. You buried the body yourself, remember? Why the act now?’

Yoel, ever the skeptic, marched over to the wall. He touched the writing, sniffing his fingers. "This isn't blood; it's cream. Julianna must have bribed someone to ruin your birthday party."

He clenched his fists, his voice filled with venom. "I hope she's dead. The only thing worse would be her alive, plotting against us."

I blew a cold breath on the back of his neck and watched as he shivered and glanced around, seeing no one. His bravado faltered, and his curses dwindled into nervous stutters.
