Chapter 22. A Break-even Meeting

"Are you sure you're going to see him now?" asked Shada doubtfully. She was also a bit annoyed if Demian left his tea without finishing it. That meant Demian didn't appreciate her.

In contrast to Shada, Demian was even more certain. It was easy to trace Ruth's whereabouts in this city. But the problem was, she could also evade him at any time without much difficulty.

"I'm sure of it." Demian said firmly. His dark eyes stared straight ahead.

Then Demian turned to Shada. "Are you coming? You said you wanted to eavesdrop on our conversation." Demian's teasing was immediately followed by a scowl on Shada's face.

"No, it's okay. I'm not in the mood." Shada looked away and folded her arms across her chest. Demian, who heard the subtle snort from the breathing system of the woman beside him, now laughed.

Demian changed his body position to face Shada so that he could look at her more carefully. The more he looked, the funnier Shada's demeanor became. Demian grinned, wanting to tease her more
