Chapter 24. Nightmares

Max stared intently at the monitor that his messenger had just delivered to his office. Occasionally he watches as he rubs his jaw nervously.

His hands then clenched tightly when he saw Shada and Demian this morning. They looked so close as they chatted in front of the minimalist balcony in front of Shada's room.

Max massaged his temples and closed his eyes along with his heavy breathing. After venturing to open his eyes to look at the CCTV capture monitor screen again, his forehead frowned thoughtfully.

"Did you find out the man's origin?" Max asked while glancing at Tonny, his messenger who was sitting with Max.

"We're still looking into it, Sir. But the man named Demian is not registered in the Toronto area population data."

Max immediately turned away, staring intently at his interlocutor. His blue eyes blinked rapidly. "So?"

"According to the information we've found, Demian and his family reside in the southwest, far from Toronto. But closer to the Burlington area."
