Dennis
For the first time since Freya and I started dating, I was so mad at her. The anger was so much that I just had to leave the room before I did something I would love to regret. Besides, any mistake could ruin all my hard work and plans. The last three years of my life have been strategic, and I wasn’t going to ruin that just because a b*tch was being disrespectful…
I slammed the door shut and it gave a loud bang. I crashed into the bed and flung the extra pillows all over the room. I was trying to let out my anger.
“How dare she disrespect me like that? That f*cking b*tch? Does she really think I love her that much to tolerate all her nonsense? If not for…” I stopped for a minute and looked around the place.
It felt odd, like someone was watching. I stood up and then looked around the room, not even sure what I was looking for.
I went back to bed and started battling with my raging thoughts…
I was never in love with Freya. Right from the start, it had always been about money…
“Who is this?” I asked Sonia while scrolling through the pictures on her phone.
She leaned over and looked at the screen, before curving her mouth into a squeeze.
“That’s Freya. She’s my friend, the one I told you I met on my first day on campus, who took me in.” She let out while I quickly sat up.
“The rich one?” I asked while she nodded.
That was all I needed from Sonia. I did my research, a thorough background check on Freya. I hadn’t even dug deep when I found the juicy part. She was a billionaire heiress!
“Why do you want to meet her, Dennis? She’s my friend! You’re not in love with her, are you?” Sonia had slammed at me when I asked her to introduce me to Freya.
“I want you to introduce me to her, so I can ask her out and date her.” I said bluntly, while Sonia’s face lit up with jealousy and anger. She couldn’t even find her voice, and was just staring at me with her mouth wide open.
“Are you listening to yourself? You’re my man! You’re my boyfriend, and you’re talking about introducing you to another girl so you can date her? Even if you want to cheat on me, how could you think of rubbing it on my face like that?” She slammed at me.
“Relax okay? I’m doing this for both of us. I did my research and found out she’s..” I went on to tell her everything I found out and my plans.
To get close to her, make her fall in love, and marry her. Once we get married, I will make her sign over her inheritance to me and then leave her.
“That’s a great idea…”
“I know right!” I cut in sharply but then saw her roll her eyes.
“Of course not. It’s also a dumb idea. You really think you can just waltz your way into her life. She’s a billionaire heiress, you have no chance with her. Agreed, she hasn’t been very lucky with love and might be a bit desperate…” I was ready to cheer again, but she stopped me and continued. “But that doesn’t mean she would date someone like you. Have you seen the men she was with in the past? They are heirs as well, f*cking billionaires with huge empires. Tell me, what do you have to offer or entice her with? Absolutely nothing! She’s never going to waste a glance on you.” She slammed at me and while her words hurt me deeply, I saw reason in them.
I had nothing. I was just a low-level intern struggling at my job which was paying peanuts.
“That’s exactly why I need your help. Forget about winning her over, I will handle that part. I have my plans already.”
“Her dad will kill you before he lets you run with his money or dupe his only daughter.” Sonia pressed further.
“Trust me, he wouldn’t dare. Not with his daughter’s reputation at stake.” Sonia searched my eyes for answers when I said this. I then explained how I planned on setting Freya up once I was done getting all her money. I would set her up for cheating and then give her the option of a quiet divorce or a loud humiliation.
Sonia agreed once she heard all this, she even helped polish the plans in some areas that I overlooked.
She introduced us, and we started talking on the phone. I expected Freya’s defenses to be high considering all that Sonia told me about her getting her heart broken several times, and deciding to take a break from love.
From the first night that we spoke, I knew I had gotten her. She was hooked right from then and I only had to do little to make her fall carelessly in love with me. She was ready to let the whole world know she now had a man. She was even willing to go against her dad for my sake.
My life started changing the moment she agreed to be my girlfriend. She made sure I got a high-paying job at one of her dad’s companies, got me an expensive and luxurious apartment.
In just three months, her whole world had changed and now revolved around me. She couldn’t do anything without me, I was her entirety, and it felt great having so much control over her.
With all that, Sonia was jealous and pained, she couldn’t bear the thought of me being with another girl and even sleeping with her. I had to constantly assure her that my heart belonged to her. I wasn’t going to betray her, I could never, not after all the sacrifices she had made for me.
For her sake, I had to move faster with the plans. I was planning on proposing six months into dating Freya, but I couldn’t. Sonia’s emotions were starting to get in the way and I couldn’t have her ruin my perfect ticket out of penury.
I proposed to Freya three months later, and she accepted, and wanted the wedding to follow immediately. Her dad became an obstacle at that point. He refused point-blank to give his blessings for the marriage and even threatened to take everything from her.
Stupid b*tch agreed without a second thought! Why would I still be marrying her if she had nothing? I had to do a lot of persuading before she agreed to wait the three-year period her dad had given us.
However, her condition was that we moved in together, which was even a great idea for me.
We moved into her penthouse and started living together. That was when it all changed.
Living with Freya made me realize and see a lot of things about her.
She was a sweet girl. A lover girl who just wanted to love and be loved.
Freya did everything I never thought she could do. I mean, for a billionaire heiress, I never thought she could bring herself so low to satisfy me. I always thought of her as an entitled rich brat who was lucky to be born into a wealthy home.
Freya cooked, did my laundry, got me contracts at the office which got me promotions, paid for several dates, and vacations. Before I knew it, I was starting to develop feelings for her, but I was too greedy to allow it or act on it. Sonia wouldn’t even let me. She was always on my neck…
Thinking about it now made me realize again how sweet of a girl she was and still is before her sudden change.
“I mean, what’s with the cheating accusations all the time?” I thought to myself.
I tried to arouse the anger in me but then, it had all dissolved. I was no longer angry and was now focused on the sweetness I enjoyed.
“Was I too hard on her? Is that why she’s being paranoid and now spiraling out of control now?” I thought to myself as I tried to figure out why she was misbehaving and now disrespecting me.
“She couldn’t have caught me with Sonia, could she? Hell no, she would have proof and I know Freya too well. She would have confronted me. She’s just mad that I was with another lady at the hotel and probably doesn’t believe it was the party planner.”
“I just need to make her believe me, and everything will go back to the way it was.”
“For tonight, she will have to sleep alone. She needs to know that her actions have consequences. Maybe that would kick some sense in her head and let her know that I wouldn’t take disrespect anymore.” I finally concluded my thoughts and went to bed.
I woke up in the morning, convinced that Freya would be crawling back to me begging. I went to the room to freshen up and, surprisingly, she was already dressed and looking… unusually hot!
“Back to pack your things?” She quizzed, sizing me up from the mirror.
“What?” I retorted, while she then stood up and turned to me.
“I thought I made myself clear last night. If you sleep outside this room, then you'll move into the guest room. When you left, I believed you made your choice.”
“What?” Oddly, that was the only word I suddenly could say.
“Make sure your things are out of here by the time I’m back from work. See you at the office darling, I think we have a joint meeting this morning, right? Don't be late.” She didn’t wait for a response, she just grabbed her bag and walked away, leaving me with the fierce smell of her fragrance.
After about five minutes, I finally turned to the direction she took. My countenance had changed, and the anger from last night was back again. This time, my blood was boiling with rage.
Whatever feelings I thought I had of pity I had for her was gone immediately, buried into the darkest parts of my heart.
No more pity, I would go full force on her and make sure she’s left with nothing by the time I'm done with her!
Sonia“No… no… no! Please… don’t... please…” I was literally begging the lines not to come up. I threw the strip in the bin and then pulled out another one. That was the fifth test.I had been feeling sick lately, but I didn’t pay much attention to it until yesterday, when I woke up and started throwing up. Washing off my mouth and face, it occurred to me that something was off. The sickness had lingered for over a week, and it was always in the morning. It started off as a mild dizziness when I woke up and then turned into nausea. Throwing up on two mornings gave me an idea what might be wrong. I desperately kicked against the thought.Pregnancy? Never! I can’t afford to be pregnant, not at this time. It would ruin a lot of things. But then, I needed to be sure, so as I was coming back from the office yesterday, I stopped by at the store and got a box of the pregnancy home test. The first stop showed I was pregnant. The second one too, and the next. Pulling out the sixth one now
FreyaI got back from work a few nights ago and Dennis had indeed moved out of the room. No apology, no remorse… nothing. He moved everything out.The moment I entered the room, I just knew something was different. I went into the closet and it became clear. He had moved out. Not even a single piece of his clothing was left behind.Ever since we moved into the penthouse, we’ve slept in the same room every night. Even on movie nights when we sleep off in the living room while watching movies, we still sleep in each other’s arms. Now we are apart and need to stay apart.I sat there in the center of the closet and scrolled through my gallery. Our pictures, the sweet intimacy we shared. Everything is all down the drain.Every day after then has been a struggle. I tried to keep up a front in the presence of Dennis. I act like I wasn’t bothered, and he does the same too.We both go to work without seeing each other and in the evening when we run into each other in the kitchen or around the
Freya“So what do you plan on doing now?” Stacey asked after she had agreed to spy on Sonia for me. Since she wasn’t her attending doctor, she could still help out without being bothered about doctor-patient confidentiality. It's just that, the information she can give me would be really limited. I don't need much either, I just wanted someone to keep tabs on her. Someone other than me...“A lot bit for now, I will get in touch with my partner and make some new plans.” I replied while she nodded.“And do you trust this person? I mean, according to what you said, he was the one who texted out first. How are you sure he’s not just using you for his own selfish interest?” She quizzed.“Because he’s getting something out of the deal too. I’m getting married to him. That was his only condition. He needs to take over his family’s business and that won’t be possible until he gets married. That’s where I come in. He helps me get revenge and I get married to him.”“What? Freya, that’s ridiculo
Victor“Why are you helping me out of nowhere, Victor? Have we met before? I mean, maybe there was a time that I stood you up and now you want revenge?”“What? You’ve suddenly lost your voice now? Come on, just tell me the truth? What’s your real motive behind all this you’re doing?” “Why are you helping me, Victor??”“Can you please come in and let’s talk about this?” I finally found my voice after minutes of just staring blankly at her. She glared at me for some seconds before dashing past me. I locked the door and then went to join her. She was too angry to sit so she stood up, her hands gripping her waist tightly while she glared at me.“You need to relax, Freya. You already know why I’m doing this, I have no other motive.” She smirked and then retorted, “ohh really, why didn’t you tell me about Stacey then? Or that we had a blind date where I stood you up and you wanted revenge? Is that what this is about? Revenge?” “Of course yes! We are doing this to revenge for you! About
FreyaI hopped in the backseat while Victor closed the door and waved me goodbye. I kept staring in the side mirror, watching him stuck to the same spot, watching till the car was out of his sight.“Do you know my place?” I finally looked away from the mirror.“Yes ma’am.” The driver replied, while I then relaxed and enjoyed the ride.It felt nice to be rightly pampered by a man who knows what I want without even having to say a word. He knew I wasn’t in the right mood to drive, and then insisted I get help instead. Dennis would never do that. He would have just nodded and watched me drive home tired. The only time he puts pressure is in bed. Once he is horny, he suddenly becomes a caring man.“Urghhh…” I shrugged as we pulled into the front of the house. The driver hopped down and got the door for me, making me smile.“Thank you…”“Anderson! It’s Anderson ma’am!” He chimed in.“Thank you, Anderson. How will you get back to the house now? Why don’t you take the car, and I’ll send some
FreyaI felt my heart tighten in my chest as I watched with horror, my fiancé and my best friend having sex in the hotel. They were so engrossed and couldn’t even care less that they were half naked and anyone who cared, could see them from the glass wall of the building’s fourth floor. Sonia was pressed to the wall while Dennis worked her insides from behind. I couldn’t hear her moans but with every second that I imagined it, my heart sank the more.Tears flooded my face as I flashed into the last two years of my life when I met Dennis. He was everything I wanted and more. Tall, handsome, broad shoulders and chest, I couldn’t stop drooling as he pulled me into a hug. For a moment there, my heart forgot how to beat, and the moment he smiled and introduced himself, I knew I was going to marry him. I had fallen hard in love with him. Before then, Dennis and I had been talking online for two months. Sonia matchmade us, and though I didn’t want another relationship at the time, she had co
FreyaI felt a stray tear trickle down my face.I was still sitting on the bed in my lingerie while Dennis snored away. I looked at the gift box in my hand, and another tear came running. That was all I was worth. A gift to shut me from using my head.I pulled the ribbon and opened it. It was a necklace. A diamond necklace. It must have cost him a fortune. My fortune. Five hours ago, it would have meant the world to me and I would have sneaked into the bathroom to sing his praises to Sonia, and thank her for giving me the best man, Dennis. She would have smiled and pretended to have my back.Ohh Freya, what a fool you have been.I was still wallowing in self-pity when his phone beeped. For the first time in our relationship, I felt the urge to check it. I gently reached into his pocket and took it. It was Sonia and I wasn’t surprised.“Why aren’t you picking up? Are you home yet?” with so much anger, I went through his text messages, desperate to find something to prove his cheating a
Victor"This way then, my queen." I said to Freya with a gentle smile, while I held out my hand and saw her off to the car.I stood there, watching till her car was out of sight. I could literally taste the joy in my throat. I had been waiting for her for so long, and it had been so painful watching her love the wrong person who didn’t love her.Right from the first time I set my eyes on Freya, I wanted her. She had dreamy blue eyes, while her lush hair bounced over her shoulders. Her makeup was light, but it complimented her face and her beauty made those billboard models look like novices.“That’s my girl…” I had said to myself as I stared at the picture on her page over and over. When I finally peeled my eyes from my phone screen, I called my private investigator to run a quick search on her.We were supposed to meet on a blind date, but she stood me up. That was a first. No woman had ever done that.Abandon me on a date? Me? Victor Maddox, the handsome billionaire heir.Women floc
