I didn't come into contact with soft lips, though. My lips kissed the air.

I opened my eyes to see Tiffany standing at the bathroom's entrance. She had her arms crossed as she looked at me, her gaze appraising. She asked, "What were you doing, Tom?"

I felt diffident. I'd been up to no good, and it hadn't worked out. Tiffany had even caught me red-handed! This was so awkward.

More importantly, she'd shattered the courage I'd mustered. My gaze darted around as I tripped over my words. I didn't dare look at her. "I was wrong, Tiffany. I won't do it anymore."

"Take your time showering. I'm going to cook." She turned and left.

Regret overwhelmed me. How could I have said those things to her earlier? She had to think I was a pervert. I slapped myself hard. "How could you say those things, Tom? How could you talk to Donald's wife like that?"

Feeling uneasy and distracted, I couldn't continue with my shower. I briefly let the water run over me before putting on my clothes and leaving the
