Chapter 30

No, Dorothy was groaning, and she sounded like she was in pain.

I barged into her bedroom, seeing her sprawled on the bed with a hand dangling over the side. She was covered in cold sweat. "Dorothy, are you okay?"

I hurriedly grabbed her wrist and felt her pulse. It was all over the place, and I could tell from it that something was wrong with her stomach. It seemed she had even puked. It was likely she had acute gastroenteritis—if she continued like this, she'd become dehydrated.

I helped her lie on her back before massaging her meridians. I massaged around her abdomen, below and around her knee, and at the inner forearm. These meridians could help alleviate her pain.

Slowly, the pain subsided. Dorothy looked at me weakly and said, "Thank you, Tom… Thank you…"

I helped wipe the sweat from her brow and asked in concern, "What did you have tonight, Dorothy?"
