I'd talked about Robert being an asshole, but I now felt I was a bigger asshole than him. I hurriedly grabbed Tiffany's hand.

She smiled, seemingly having expected this. "Have you thought things through?"

I felt conflicted. On one hand, was Donald, who treated me like his brother. On the other hand, was my desire for a woman's touch. After some turmoil, I decided to choose the former. I couldn't betray Donald for a moment of passion. I'd be a monster if I were to do that.

I nodded. "Yeah, I have. You should go, Tiffany."

"I knew you would come around. You really are a great guy, Tom. It's no wonder Don keeps saying it'd be great if you really were his brother," she said.

I looked at her guiltily. "I'm sorry about this, Tiffany. You and Don treat me so well, yet I keep trying to hit on you. I'm such a bastard."

"You aren't completely to blame for that—I am, too. I keep talking about these things in front of you; I forget you're still a child sometimes."

I hurriedly said, "I'm not
