I shook my head, feeling confused. "I don't know."

Tiffany said, "Robert is leading Dorothy on like a dog with a bone. Whenever he calls her, he'll tell her he misses and wants her. He'll get her hot and bothered but won't give it to her."

I couldn't help snarling, "He's such a jerk! Why's he doing this to Dorothy when he already has a mistress?"

Tiffany was equally angry. "Right? Robert is an unfaithful bastard. He's even trying to lure Dorothy into a trap now. He's the biggest scumbag in the world!"

I couldn't help feeling sorry for Dorothy upon hearing this. Robert had cheated on her, yet she was still unaware. She'd remained faithful to him despite him being away for over half a year. She hadn't done him wrong.

Tiffany looked at me. "You must find it weird that I haven't told Dorothy about this despite being her best friend."

She was right. I did indeed find it weird.

Tiffany smiled bitterly. "It's not that I've never thought about it. It's that I can't tell her. Dorothy is
