Marissa’s POV

Nica's eyes began to pool with tears, and I refused to be a fool with it. I could see from her hands that she was holding bags of our favorite snacks. It is just so funny that she is thinking that I could still accept her after what she has done to me. Her makeup was beginning to erase because of her tears and her hands were trembling.

"Did you see us in the restaurant last night?" her faint voice squeaked.

I tried not to be swayed by the lump in my throat so that I could show her that I do not easily cry in these situations. Enough is enough. All my life, she thought she was always a savior to me whenever I had problems to be resolved. She used to be my haven. But she taught me that even the most trusted persons can also participate in a fucked up betrayal.
