Chapter Fifty-Nine: Famished

Marissa’s POV

“I won!” I announced and shouted like a monkey jumping on the sofa as the timer ran out from the basketball game we were watching.

“Argh! The Lakers should have won! The referee is not looking at the violations your players are committing! That was supposed to be a foul!” Diego angrily said.

“Well, Mr. Montero, better luck next time. It seems like you are the loser now!” I teased and even looked down at him while I placed my hands on my hips because I was still at the top of the sofa.

He rolled his eyes at me and raised his glass of beer. “Then victory to you, Ms. Dela Cruz!” he said.

I also raised mine and dramatically drank my glass happily. But while I was finishing it, his eyes opened and locked on my stomach, which was exposed because my hand was raised due to drinking.
