I didn't now where everyone had dispersed to and I didn't care enough to look. I went through the destroyed living room to the kitchen and pulled out the drawers. I had seen two long rusted looking swords kept there the first day I had gone through. I didn't know who they belonged to and what they were doing here and I didn't care, I just wanted to get in some actionI pulled them out and turned around, my gaze clashing with the old woman's as she cowered behind the door."Leave and hide, immediately" I ordered. She shrieked and quickly turned around, disappearing into the house. I went the opposite direction back to the living room. I stopped the moment I heard crashes in one of the other rooms, they had probably gotten in and were already engaged in fights with the team somewhere in the house.I walked through the broken wall and furniture outside where I could see their huge truck waiting. I didn't think as I ran towards it, Alpha mode on.My attacks were swift and precise, I had
I looked away from them and focused on Karis. I heard their voices as Commander Albert dished out orders and they responded. I also missed the last look Achu threw over his shoulders at us before they all leapt out of the van. My focus was all on Emily, her eyes were closed as she lay on the ground, her breathing was slow and her heart rate was definitely going down. Her blood had soaked through her clothing and now formed a small puddle beside her, she didn't have long if I didn't do anything about it.I didn't even know what I was supposed to do for her, I knew the practical version of the procedure when it was performed on Emily.I had never tried it on anybody else and now here I was, someone's life in my hands.I called onto my wolf, needing her help to do this. Even though I was unconscious when it had been done to me, my wolf was alert and awake, and she had witnessed it. She would know things and be aware of things I would normally miss. So I needed her help, in case I wasn'
I spent the rest of the day indoors with karis, her temperature running hot then cold. She was having a fever, a sign that she was recovering and that her body was trying to get better. Most of the guys had already come to see her and they had gone. I was still in the room in the evening with Emily and Anthony, both had fallen asleep on the bed while I lay quiet on the couch."Commander Susan is here. Wake them up" said Achu as he poked his head through the door before retreating."Guys. Wake up. Get up" I said tiredly as I shoved at them with my footI saw that they were awake before I conveyed the message to them, thengot up and left.Commander Susan was the old woman we had met earlier on the elevator, and she looked as elegant as she had earlier. She was walking around the apartment looking at stuff, almost like a supervisor here to look around and supervise."It was a close call with the attack at the rendezvous point. How did they trace you there? I thought you covered your tr
We walked out of the room and met Commander Susan outside hers, she had been waiting for us. I didn't think I had ever met a woman who pulled off the old, elegant and powerful look the way she did. And she was dressed in killer clothes."We have a hunch, and we need to follow that through to the end. Commander Jim apparently lost connection with us about the last hour before this one. That means two things, either he is in a situation where he can't communicate, or he has been compromised. It seems he had been able to track our delegates down. Your mission is to trace him to the last possible location we have on him. Find out what happened to him and confirm if our delegates are indeed there. Then call for backup, we would all engage the moment we get there. Good luck, "she said to us.She went ahead to press the button on the elevator for us, and watched as we all moved in. She nodded to us as the elevator closed shut."Why are you scared?" Asked Commander Albert out of nowhere. He
They arrived late into the night. It was about midnight, the sky was dark out and everywhere was quiet. The only noise to be heard was the sway of the leaves in the forest. We had gone as far as taking care of the candles so that not even a speck of light could be seen from outside. They must have notified Commander Albert of their arrival because he just walked out of the bedroom where he had stayed and out through the side door into the evening. It was a while before he arrived back with the team in tow.I said nothing because there was this tension they came in with. I knew there was nothing wrong and that I was feeling the tension because this was my first time actually seeing them do things from the outside. They looked so intimidating and powerful.I immediately rushed to Commander Albert who was carrying Karis and led him into the room where she was laid down. She had been resting for more than a day, she would be needing at least another day before I expected her to wake up.
Way to leave me like this commander Susan. I thought as I saw her retreating body. The tension was so insane I thought Teresa would attack me out of nowhere. I glanced at her out of the corner of my eyes to find her seething, and then immediately glanced away.I placed a foot in front of the other and made a hasty escape out of there."You met her?" Asked Achu the moment I met them outside. They had all been discussing something when I joined them. Emily, Achu and Anthony."I did. She is okay I guess" I said, shrugging."Is she okay? I hate that bitch. I can't believe she is the so-called Queen everyone is trying so hard to protect. And for what?" Asked Emily, her eyes were wide and she looked like she had just finished bashing the other chick."I don't like her. Never did, she made life for Bryan hell" I said, trying to explain to the guys why Emily was behaving crazy"Yes, I remember when it happened. We were there. Teresa has always been...odd" explained Anthony with a strained smi
I ran away from the Carnage as fast as I could, leaving everything behind except for the one mission on my mind. It was all on me now.I needed to know their exact location and even where they were headed, and I needed to get there before them if I could. I hadn't seen the guys nor Commander Susan and Commander Dominic. didn't know where they were or if they were even alive, and I would ignore that. I wouldn't be expecting any backup even though I know Emily would probably ask the academy to send one as soon as they could, I wouldn't expect the others to suddenly appear out of nowhere to help me. It was all me now.I left the neighbourhood, pulling into the street and joining the normal passerbys. I saw as several police cars and law enforcement agencies vehicles pulled from traffic and entered the street I had just left. So many people looked scared and afraid, while others acted like hearing several gunshots nearby was a normal occurrence.I walked into a cafe, the bell jingling a
We got into a vehicle and headed out of the city. I stayed back and watched as the girls walked into the parking lot of a building. I didn't know what they did or whose car they stole but they soon revved out of the building with the swankiest car I had ever seen"Get in," said Emily, smiling wide.I whistled low as I got in the back, it looked new and everything."Do I have to worry that we just stole a very expensive car?" I asked them."No. And don't worry. We would return it back without a scratch on it" Karis replied."Okay" I nodded, I didn't believe them though, finally reclining back and admiring the interior of the car."Guys? Are you sure we can do this? we suddenly have this huge mission to do in our arms, all the responsibilities and decisions, are you guys sure we can do it?" asked Karis from the front.I knew that we were thinking the same thing, Karis was always so confident like she could do anything that she wanted to do and nothing could stop her. Listening to her d
