CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN

We went back to the castle silently. The mood between us was dull and tense, like a tight rope being stretched, any moment now it would reach its elastic limit and snap.

I could just feel it. We walked into the castle and I could see that Hades was struggling to say something.

"Let me go freshen up" I said softly to Hades without looking at him.

I immediately turned and walked away, climbing the stairs and getting back into our room.

I needed some privacy. I walked into the bathroom and shut the door, then immediately pulled out my body care products. I felt the need to pamper myself. I needed to distract myself from everything or I felt like I would just shatter.

I spent most of the day first of all taking care of my hair. It was now long rather than the short hair it used to be, and now hair wash days were no longer a breeze the way they used to be.

It took me forever to pre-poo, then shampoo, deep condition, leave in conditioner and then seal my hair, before finally styled it.
