CHAPTER THREE

ONE MONTH LATER

Stella has recovered fully but she is told to remain in the hospital for a week for proper check-up before she'll be able to go home. When Charles heard of the news he was happy but couldn't share with his friend because he was still angry with him.

David also heard the news of her recovery and he felt happy but couldn't understand why. He decided to visit her one evening when he was sure her parents had gone home. Stella was surprised to see him when he came to the hospital at that time since it was late at night. "David what are you doing here by this time aren't you supposed to be sleeping. You have to go home and rest. " Stella said though she was happy that he was with her. " I can't sleep knowing that you're not fine. I'm sorry" David said and Stella looked at him confused. "Why are you apologizing to me because the last time I checked you haven't wronged me." Stella replied innocently. David just looked at her hesitating whether to tell her the truth or not. He decided to let her know the truth before someone else tells her.

"Actually I was the one who made the girl push you inside the pool... I ... I..." Stella looked at him with hurt in her eyes. But she doesn't know why she's not angry with him. David couldn't stand her silence, "Please say something hit me , slap me or do anything but don't be silent because your silence is killing me." " What do you want me to say huh tell me." She said at the verge of crying. She laid her head on the pillow turning her back to face David, " please I want to be alone " Stella said.

David held her hand and turned her to face him pulling her up in the process. "What are you doing? Let go off me now." Stella said when David pulled her into a hug. "I'm very sorry for my childish act. Please forgive me and it won't happen again." Stella pulled out of the hug staring directly at him," You promise, how can you promise when you can't fulfill it tell me. This is not your first time promising to me remember..." She kept on talking but David's attention all this while was on her cute lips looking tempting from her constant nagging. "If you don't stop nagging I'm going to kiss you now" He said absentmindedly. "What! You're not even remorseful you're here thinking of kissing me when you're supposed to be asking for my forgiveness." Stella told him. "If I fail every other promise doesn't mean I'm not gonna fail kissing your tempting lips if you don't stop talking." Stella saw that he was serious and decided to keep quiet. "Such a jerk look at him trying to scare me but his lips will taste very sweet... what I'm I even thinking gosh." Stella thought inwardly. "Or you want to know if I'm serious or not? Why don't you try talking sweetheart" David teased her. Stella felt some butterflies in her stomach the moment she heard him call her sweetheart and started blushing but was quick to hide it before he sees her blush and continue teasing her. "Did you hear what I just said or you seriously want to be kissed by me. Go to bed now or enjoy my sweet lips" David said proudly and teasingly. " In your dreams. who lied to you that your lips tastes sweet. Is not even attractive". Stella said mockingly and David started bringing his face closer to hers. Stella knew what was coming for her and quickly laid on the bed covering herself with bedsheet to prevent David from kissing her. "Why are you hiding I'm just trying to see through your eyes if you're telling the truth or not." David teased "Don't worry I'm sleepy goodnight" Stella replied quickly feeling shy already.

Later at night David heard some uncomfortable sound and decided to raise his heard and see what's happening. He saw Stella having a nightmare. "No... No... No... Mom, Dad wake up don't go please... don't leave me here alone please..." David heard everything and was confused as to why she was mentioning her parents names. "Did they abandon her... no if they did she wouldn't be running their company. What really happened to her then."David couldn't place the two together because he once overhead the nurses conversing about her nightmare always mentioning her parents names. He was still thinking when he felt a tight squeeze on his hand and decided to wake her up."Babe wake up, wake up it's just a dream." She woke up breathing heavily and immediately hugged David and started crying. David had no option than to rub her back till she calmed down. "I'm sorry for wetting your dress with my tears. I just can't help it. I keep on having the same dream and it gets me worried. What if I'm leaving a doubled life, what if the dream is true..." So many what ifs and David finally lost self control and kissed her taking her by surprise. She tried talking but David got the chance and pushing his tongue into her mouth kissing her more till she responded to the kiss. He broke the kiss when they felt breathless. Stella started feeling shy and she started fidgeting her crossed fingers. David looked at her amused and he knew he is her first kiss and he'll be the only one kissing her sweet lips. He held her chin up and said, " look at me and don't feel shy. Don't overthink things okay." " Who told you that I'm overthinking things." Stella said not making things look awkward. She did enjoy the kiss and was yearning for more but couldn't say it. David could see it in her eyes that she was yearning for more of his kiss but he wants her sleep before he looses control and corrupt her innocent mind. Her cute lips and figure keeps on attracting her to him. "You need to go back to sleep now okay." He said brushing her hair with his hands. " Alright can you come and sleep beside me please." She said pouting cutely and David fell for that charm immediately. Stella placed her head on his chest and closed her eyes drifting off to sleep. David also held her waist drawing her closer to himself going back to sleep.

The next day David woke up very early and placed a peck on her forehead before going home. Though he felt sad leaving her at the hospital but he had no choice since he has a meeting to attend to early that morning. But he had plans of coming back to visit her at night again since he felt comfortable holding her closer to himself.

David went home and met Charles descending the stairs and tried talking to him but he ignored and went straight to the kitchen to find something to eat. David just shook his head feeling sad because Charles has been ignoring him ever since that incident. He went straight to his room punching the wall. " Stella Bill Klein look at what you've caused between my friend and I. I don't know if I should hate you more or I should be happy with you." Charles was passing by when he heard Stella's name and went closer to listen to what his friend was saying. After hearing everything he left there, " so this boy will never change after everything he's still blaming her for something which isn't her fault." He chuckled and walked to his room.

Immediately Charles entered his room he started thinking about everything that he just heard and decided to forgive his friend and talk to him because the more he ignores him, the more hatred he had for Stella and he also doesn't want his friend to make a decision that he'll forever regret. He decided to use Stella to make him jealous and with that it'll attract him closer to Stella since he knows how jealous David can be. But first who is he going to use to accomplish his mission and he needs to talk to him before he leaves for work. With that said he walked out of his room only to meet David preparing to go to work.

"Hi, I want to talk to you about something. If you're in a hurry let me leave you so that when you return we'll talk about it." David gave him the go ahead to talk since its been long he heard from his friend. " I came to tell you that I've forgiven you and there's no need of getting angry at you since the girl in question is now healthy and strong." David immediately pulled Charles into a warm hug and smiling wildly at him. " Thanks man only God knows how much I've missed you especially how we used to be back then." David replied truthfully. "Can we go and visit her at the hospital today when you close from work?" Charles asked and David immediately agreed to do as he wants.

EARLIER THAT DAY

David and Charles went to the hospital only to see a handsome male doctor talking to Stella and she was busily admiring him and smiling at him. David at the end was boiling in rage that he wanted to punch but Charles on the other end was enjoying the show. He cleared his throat to draw their attention and the two chitchatting suddenly turned to face them. The doctor excused himself but before that he tried pecking her cheeks but was stopped by David's words,"If you want to be taken to the operation ward try finish what you're trying to do." The doctor had no option than to stop and leave the room not before receiving a hard glare from David.

Charles went to sit beside Stella immediately the doctor left and started chatting with her. David didn't want to talk to her because of how she was smiling at the doctor. Charles saw that David had no intention of coming forward so he decided to excuse them claiming that he had an emergency call so he needs to go back home and left them.

Stella turned to face David who was still standing there making no effort of moving closer to her or sit down not until she called him. "David won't you sit down and ask of my health." "Weren't you with a doctor now smiling at him and even giving him the chance to peck you." David replied jealously. "Is that jealousy I'm smelling or what" Stella teased. David sat down on a chair and told Stella to come and sit on his thighs she hesitated at first but seeing the stern look she was receiving from him made her comply. " I thought you wouldn't come and sit down. Who gave you the audacity to smile at other men and talk more of letting them give you a peck." David asked her and she looked away trying her possible best not to laugh at his jealous side. " It was just a peck and not a kiss." Stella defended herself. " It starts from pecks then it goes to kissing and then it goes to..." Stella didn't let him continue what he was about to say when she covered his mouth with her palm. David removed her hand with a smirk on his face, " You wanted a peck right now I'll give you more pecks." He started pecking her all over her face and it felt ticklish on her face so she started laughing holding his neck for support. "Is okay stop, stop I don't want a peck anymore please." she said still laughing. David finally stopped and started staring at her lips. "What is it don't give me that look of yours."she said knowing what will be following the hard stare. "You know you talk too much." With that said he started kissing her and pressing her buts when he received a complain from her, "Ouch don't squeeze my bum bum don't you know that it's painful."Stella whined like a child and David shook his head in disbelief. "Are you still this childish. Oh my I have a lot of work to do with you." He continued kissing her and pressing her bum bum but this time around not stop whenever she tries removing his hand or breaking free from the kiss. He stopped to take a breath and looked at her face showing how unhappy she feels because he's bullying her by squeezing her buts. " My princess... My heartbeat... sweetheart..." He called her all the sweet names but she was still not minding him. "Are you angry with me for pressing your bum bum or you have another man doing that for you." he asked her knowing fully well that she won't answer him and he knows when she's with that face he's done with because she's never gonna talk to him unless someone intervenes. He remembers how his parents and hers always beg her to talk to him whenever he bullies her and he just did. Right now he needs Charles to come and talk to her.

As if Charles knew his friend needed help he entered the room and met them in that position but something wasn't right from the look on Stella's face. " Stella what's wrong with that face of yours. I hope is not my friend who is making you angry and still sitting on his laps." Charles said making Stella get more angrier not until David signalled him to help him apologize to her. "Stella baby, you know my friend can be a jerk sometimes but don't mind him. I know for sure that you're the only one who can stand him and tame his heart. Just forgive him for whatever he did to you okay. The next time he tries that punch him very okay." Charles said and Stella nodded her head agreeing with Charles. David turned her head to face him,"I'm I forgiven now or you want to be left alone." He asked her and she nodded her head side ways signifying a no. She hugged him and he hugged her back telling her something and she started laughing.

All this while Mr. and Mrs Klein were standing there and watching the kids display their love without knowing that they were present. Not until they cleared their throats did they get noticed by the two love birds and Charles.

"Mom, Dad I...I..."Stella said stammering. "Oh now you stammer right or cat got your tongue." Mrs. Klein teased. "No mom, not now please. They're my friends..." Stella couldn't complete her sentence when Mrs. Klein said mockingly, "friends indeed, I can see how your friendship is going on smoothly especially how you're sitting in a compromise position." Stella felt shy and tried standing up but David was quick to hold her down. "What are you doing can't you see that my parents are here and as a matter of fact watching us?" Stella whispered in David's ear. David ignored her and turned to face Stella's parents but what he said next shocked everyone.
