CHAPTER FOUR

"She's my girlfriend and she's my wife to be. Oh no let me say she's carrying my baby." David said proudly and Stella's parents turned to her with questioning faces. "Mom, Dad don't believe him he's..." "I'm being truthful here, why do you think she's more closer to me and sometimes doesn't come home early from work that's because we're planning our future. " David said with a side smirk. Stella's parents were confused and just staring at their daughter unbelievably. Stella saw their stare and hit David's arm causing him to wince in pain. "Baby that's bad manners. How can you hit your baby daddy so hard. Who will help you carry the baby when you put to bed." David said causing Stella to blush. She hid her face on his chest. Her parents were amused by their display of love even in their presence. "I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Klein, I was just trying to pull your legs and as a matter of fact your daughter isn't pregnant so don't be scared. Till she's ready I'll forever wait. The only thing is that I'm in love with your daughter and can you grant her the permission of taking a boyfriend as responsible as me." David said making the tension in the room die down. Stella stared at him dumfounded , she didn't know whether to be happy or scold him for displaying such act in front of her parents. She felt there is more to his niceness or should she say closeness towards her. His sudden change of character from being rude during their first meeting and later coming back to apologize and the next thing he planned drowning her and later apologizes what more can he do to her. She just brushed it off because some part of her trust him and the other part of her finds attitude towards her strange. "Stella darling we came to inform you that your discharge fees has been paid and your dad and I will be traveling for a business meeting. We were worried at first but we discussed with Charles and he agreed to send you home when you get discharged and I believe your handsome boyfriend will take good care of you while we're away." Mrs. Klein said. Stella looked at her Mom with questioning eyes like she and her dad are doing it on purpose. "Mom are you sure about it or you just... you know..." Stella asked her Mom who understood what her daughter was driving at. "No darling we're being serious this time around. We'll be leaving early tomorrow morning at exactly 4am." Mrs. Klein replied truthfully. " But Mom why can't I get discharged today you know how much I hate hospital scent. At least home treatment will be much better than being stuck in the hospital smelling all these horrible medicines." Stella whined like a child. "Young lady no home treatment for you or should I tell them how the last one ended." Mrs. Klein teased her. "No Mom I think here is much better I never thought of it at all." Stella said remembering what she did. How her parents and the nurse were chasing her around the house just to drink her medicine and how she cried for days because she got an injection from the nurse and she refused to talk to her parents especially. She shook her head remembering everything. David on the other side was also thinking about Stella's attitude and saying she hasn't changed. "I thought after all these years she'll be a tough girl who wouldn't be scared of medicine and injection anymore but here she is still running away from it." David smiled stroking Stella hair.

Just as they were still discussing her medicines was brought inside by the nurse. "Ma'am the doctor told me to make sure I see you swallow the tablets before I leave this room." the nurse said. "Can you go and come back as you can see I have visitors". Stella replied. "But ma'am this is the time to take in your drugs and I believe your visitors will understand you." Stella was about replying when David cut in," I can see someone is scared of taking medicine." David teased. " And who told you that. Mommy where's my apple?" Stella asked her Mom. "Your apple is finished darling so drink your medicine after I'll go and buy some for you okay. "Mrs. Klein replied. "But Mom you know..." " No but young lady. We're waiting for you to take in your drugs before we leave here." Mr. Klein said seriously knowing the kind of girl Stella is. David saw her hesitation and took the drugs and water from the nurse before pouring them in his mouth. Stella stared at him with her mouth opened. Before she could tell what was happening, she was kissed no forced to drink the drugs directly from David's mouth in the process of kissing her. He held her closer and continued kissing her till she had swallowed all the drugs in his mouth. She felt the bittersweet medicines in her mouth and frowned at David again. "Your apples will be brought to you soon." was all David could say. The nurse left the ward blushing hard and wishing she was the one in Stella's shoes.Her parents were in awe as to how their daughter met such a nice man like David. He didn't need to introduce himself because everyone in the business world knows the popular but young CEO billionaire David King who turns out to be very arrogant and proud. They wondered how their innocent baby met him left alone date him. Stella was busily scolding David for what he did in front of her parents. "David King why did you do that don't you know my parents and your friend are here..." " The more you talk the more I get attracted to those tempting lips of yours so if you don't want to be kissed in front of your parents and my friend, you better keep that mouth of yours shut." David said seriously and Stella immediately shut her mouth.
