After our first sparring practice we all head back to the house. The witches are all grumbling about how sore they are. Some are even bringing up the sparring match between Blair and Samara. They all seem rather shocked by how much anger was in their match. The matches between the two Council members and Jade and Hazel are spoken of just as frequently. This time with a small amount of reverence.Everybody seems to have much more excitement for the combat training after today. The sparring really put into perspective how much the basics training helps. At the end of the week I would like to have a celebration. I was thinking of doing something like the dinner that I have with the wolves but maybe it is time that we do something else with both species. I do not want to incringe on the pack's dinner but I still want to do something for the witches. I guess that it is possible that I have an entire weekend of celebrations. One day for the wolves, one for the witches and one for a combina
"What did you want?" Safiya asks when she finally decides to join me in the hallway."Why don't we go up to the library to talk about it?" I tell her. She gives me a look of mistrust as we begin to climb the stairs towards the library. I can only imagine what she is thinking I plan to say to her. Most likely thinks that I am going to bring up the fact that she has been meeting with a werewolf almost every night lately."What is it that you need of me?" Safiya asks defensively."Most likely not what you are thinking. Right now, I want to find more ways for the girls to all bond. I have recently learned of dances that witches used to perform in the past for different reasons. I want more information on those. I want for us to all get out on Saturdays and dance together. Whether it is a rain dance or just for fun. I am just looking for more information on it. Can you help?" I ask her.Her eyebrows raise like she cannot believe what she is hearing. Apparently she is expecting me to ask f
Arriving at the pack feels like coming home. It was definitely the right decision for tonight. I am looking forward to spending some time at home with Dante and not having to worry about the witches for the night. They always have a way to get ahold of me so I am not worried about them. I can just relax here with the other half of my family.I smile as I walk through the doorway and smell Dante cooking. It has been quite a while since I have had his cooking besides at the pack dinners. It is different when it is just for us though. I had tried to keep my decision to come here out of my mind so that I could surprise him but I must have let something slip on my way since he is cooking.Walking around the corner, I find him dancing around in the kitchen while he is cooking. He is making some type of homemade pasta as I can see the pasta hanging and drying. When he turns and sees me, a huge smile lights his face. Dropping the spoon that he is holding he practically jumps over the counter
Spending the evening with Dante for dinner was pure bliss. We made a deal not to talk about any threats to us after the dinner was done. Instead, we just caught up on each other, told some stories and enjoyed our company. There was nobody watching and judging me as I ate and socialized. What a freeing feeling. After dinner, we decide to sit in the rec room and watch a movie. There is no point in working on a movie series since we have no idea when I will be back here again. Instead, we choose the movie Eragon. For once, I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of the movie. I read the book at one point and the movie just does not do the book justice. The books were pure genious while the movie was just a little 'bleh'. The story line itself was still pure genious but the way that they made the movie was lacking. I do not see myself watching it again. One good thing that came out of it though, is the fact that I can focus on Dante more instead of focusing on the movie. Snuggling in c
Friday morning arrives quickly. With it, comes some of the notes from Safiya about the tradition dances. She has notes on a rain dance, a coming of age dance, and even a mate dance. Apparently witches used to do a dance when they wanted to find someone to have a child with. They would ask the Moon Goddess for a sign as to who they should try to conceive with. This is complete news to me as it almost seems like they were looking for something similar to a mate. Sure, werewolves do not have to ask her for a sign for us, but for many of us there is a predetermined perfect mate out there. She has already made the one that she thinks would be the best for us so we just have to keep an open mind when meeting them.Elle informs me that she has never completed this dance before and neither has anybody that she knows. This means that for some reason, witches stopped listening to the Moon Goddess when it comes to their partners. That fact alone shows that they have stopped showing her the respe
I guess this all technically does not have to be on me. I do not have to fight everybody for the dream that I have. The dream that the Moon Goddess has shown me. That dream shows all of our children living in peace. Both species living together and getting along. Sometimes breeding between the species may occur but that could only benefit us further. This dream is not something that I could ever give up. I want my children to grow up safely. I want them to know that nobody is going to hunt them down the second they walk away from the pack. I want to create a safe place for other hybrids to train and even live. But how do I explain all of that to her?"I have told you about the dreams with the Moon Goddess in the past. I have not quite told you everything though. There are a few things that I did not fully tell you all. She showed me a future. I wonderful future that could change how we all live as well as the relationships that we make in the future." I start telling her.Finding a c
After talking with Safiya for I find that I have a renewed sense of purpose as I finish my walk to the pack. She surprises me by wanting to come with me to observe how the wolves act when they are not being attacked by witches. Apparently, this is a bit of a foreign concept to her. There are party lights strung along all of the trees encircling the back of the pack house. This time, Dante and Kevin have set up a stereo outside so that everybody can listen to music while we enjoy our dinner. Most of the pack has already arrived and are mulling around, talking to each other in groups.Looking back at Safiya, I can see that she is once again dressed in her typical Witch Council attire. She is wearing a business suit that has a series of lunar phases going up the sides and running under her arms. There is also a small pin on her lapel that shows the symbol for a witch. Might not be the best outfit for her to wear when she wants to blend in and observe the wolves some. Losing all sense of
"Is that what this weird glowing thing means?" I ask her."You didn't know? I take it that it has happened before?" She asks me."One other time. It was when she instructed me on how to take on the Coven. After I beat them I had the same glow about me as I followed her instructions." I admit.Remembering that day, I did feel like I was being led at the moment. The same way I felt while we were having this converation. Although I did not disagree with anything that I was doing, it still felt almost like I was being led in how it was accomplished. "It should happen whenever you speak for her. I have never seen it in person before. I have seen other's memories of it happening but never thought that I would see it in person. This truly shows that you are acting on her behalf." She tells me. I guess that means that maybe I have finally fully won her over? Seeing the incredulous look that she is giving me I can only assume I have. She almost seems at a loss for words as she studies me som
