"Wait, you can do that?" Frank asks shocked. "Yes, of course I can. It is not something that I have done often, actually only one other time but it is an option. It is one that terrifies her." I admit. "Who did you do it to before?" Rand asks me. "I did it to Morden. There was no other way to stop her from coming after my pack or my family." I answer simply. "Your grandmother said that Simonetta was behind that the entire time. That only makes it right that she gets the same punishment if not worse than what Morden received." Rand points out. I had not thought of it that way but it is true. Still, we need to have a system set up for something like this. Otherwise, there will always be somebody that takes advantage of the power and that is not something that I can condone. "That is very true. I had not thought of that but this is not a decision to be made lightly. There might be longer reaching consequences that even I am not aware of by using this ability. Still, I see no other o
Alright, so maybe it was not the smartest idea to be tracking werewolves. Actually, considering I have been hiding from this specific pack for almost a decade now this is borderline suicide. There is just something about these scouts that I have to find out about. I am currently tracking and learning about two scouts that walked by me recently without realizing that I was there. Both are rather tall, but one is about two inches taller than the other and is built like a mountain, so he seems so much bigger than the other one. The smaller of the two actually seems just a bit more intimidating and would most likely tower over anybody else besides his scouting companion. Something about him just makes him seem more dangerous than the larger on though. “Did you smell that.” The shorter one said. “No, Alpha. What does it smell like?” The mountain replied to the……Alpha? Just my luck I would be following the one that I should be avoiding more than any of the others. Standing behind a bus
I managed to put the incident with Alpha out of my mind for the following two weeks. As a wolf I am naturally able to hunt for myself to acquire food, so I have luckily, never had to go without for too long. Even though I have not had a nice hot shower in quite a few years living as a wolf does have its advantages. I am able to run through the springs in order to clean off and have no problems going to the bathroom in the woods either. The trickiest part is the fact that I have to do all of this while hiding from the closes pack of werewolves. I wait another week before venturing closer to the pack lines again. Even though I am trying to avoid detection by the pack it is much safer to be close to them than it is to be surrounded by possibilities at all times. If it was not for the fact that I can also change into a cardinal on demand, then I am sure that I would have been found out a long time ago. Turning into a cardinal is not normal for werewolves but my parents taught me to never
To say that I am shocked by this outburst does not begin to describe the emotions going through me at this point. It seems surreal that this is happening to me, and I begin to laugh hysterically at the comment. “Me? Your mate? You have got to be kidding me, right?” I ask. He seems rather hurt and confused but replies, “No, I am not kidding you. I am being completely serious right now. You must be my mate, and you belong here with me.” I muse over this for a moment and try to put the puzzle pieces together. His scent, the way he got me off guard and seemed to genuinely care about me eating and being taken care of. Even his puzzlement over me being alone for the last couple of years makes it all snap into place. It is just too much. Two weeks ago, I had nothing. I lived in the forest on the outskirts of a pack for years and nobody ever suspected that I was there. Now, one mistake later and I am surrounded by a pack while the Alpha professes to possibly being my Mate. The one chosen
After breakfast I was at a loss for what to do next. Besides hunting for food I have not had a proper pastime since I was a child. Now, it looks like I have plenty of extra time to spare."Do you want to walk around the town with me? The entire town is made up of members of the pack so you do not have to hide here." Dante supplies helpfully."I have not been around other people in years. That sounds like a wonderful idea although, I am a little nervous to do so." I admit."This is my pack. There is nothing to be nervous about. Maybe we can stop at the coffee shop and get some drinks while we walk around." He supplies hopefully."Ok I might like that. I have never had coffee though." I say sheepishly."Well that is just a crime that I cannot allow. Come on, let's get out of here and see what all we can get into." He grabs my hand before we head out of the door. My hand tingles where he is touching me and I cannot tell i
Reading the book is slow work considering my inability to read books in recent years. Luckily, the trials in this fantasy world manage to suck me right in. Reading about a world so far different than mine seems like such an easy way to live. Of course, it most likely isn't. After reading about a quarter of the book, I decide to go talk to Dante about it. I am thrilled to have something to talk to him about that does not make me sound like an innocent child. I might have only met him a day ago but I feel as if every interaction with him has been lacking on my end. Finally, I might be able to converse semi intelligently with him. Walking down the hallway I find his office door and go to knock when I hear angry voices. It might be best not to bother him while he is angry, so I go to turn and leave when I hear the words Midnight Coven. The name seems vaguely familiar although I cannot imagine where I have heard it before. It would have had to have been as a child but that was so long
I woke up to the bright sun streaming through the window and into my eyes. I have missed waking up to the sunlight and could definitely get used to doing so again. Stretching, I get up to find some clothes for the day. Seems like it is going to be a beautiful day outside so I look for shorts and a T-shirt. Clothes just seem to keep appearing rather consipicuously whenever I leave the room for any reason. As I grab the clothes that I plan to wear for the day I hear a knock on the door. Rushing into the bathroom, I yell "It's open!" Yanking on the red T-shirt and the shorts that are a little shorter than I had planned, I get ready to head back out to see who came to visit me."Well, don't you just look all bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning." Dante says to me brightly."Good morning Alpha." I reply while he physically bristles at the word."Good morning. Would you like to get some breakfast with me? No more of that Alpha business either."
After spending most of the morning with Dante, I went back to my room to read for a while before the cookout. When it gets closer to time for dinner and I can hear more pack members arriving it seems rather silly to keep hiding in my room when I can focus on practicing my social skills for a possible future mate. So far, the only person that I have been able to feel myself around is Dante. To be honest, I have not actually met many other people yet considering that I do not leave my room very often.Deciding to change into pants since it might get a bit chilly in the afternoon, I walk into the closet to find something. There are some black, stretchy pants that I do not seem familiar with. They do not look quite like pajamas but surely, they cannot be everyday pants either. They are way too soft to be everyday pants. Peeking out of the window from my bedroom, I look at what some of the other women are wearing. While most seem to be wearing shorts, a few are also wearing
