We make it back to my room in silence after we get done listening to the witches for a while. I just stare at Elle in shock. I am not sure what the Council is trying to accomplish. Are they trying to discredit me by saying that I have abandoned the Moon Goddess. Or, are they trying to make it seem as if the Moon Goddess has abandoned them? If that is something that she wanted to do then she would be able to just wipe us all out. She did create us all after all. "It is good that you planted those peepholes. They never thought to check under the vast layers of illusions that you placed before them. If you had not done that then we would have no idea what they were up to in there." Elle tells me."Yeah but to what end? I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish at this point. Are they trying to make me look bad or make our Goddess look bad? Either way what are they trying to get at? Do they want to take me down or is it something worse. Also, did it seem as if the council was divi
After spying on the witches and talking over what we observed, we decide to just call it a night. Instead of heading back to Dante I stay in the house again so that I am with my Coven. I may not feel the bond of sisterhood as strongly as some of the other witches do but I still am a member of this Coven so anything that they have to suffer I have to suffer as well.I have no idea how late they actually kept Morden with them after we left. They had moved to fairy noncosequential items and we did not see the point in staying any longer. I would have liked to have watched what they said to each other after Morden left but since there is apparently a form of communication that they use that does not include actually speaking there was really no point in waiting around.I tossed and turned for most of the night before finally being pulled into the same fathomless chamber that I was pulled into before by the Goddess. This time, it is not as scary as it was before. Instead, I have an idea of
"What are you doing here?" I ask Dante sleepily after a while. "I just wanted you to know that I am here for you. You were sleeping so terribly that I had to do something to help you out. As soon as I got into bed with you you managed to begin calming down. Is there something else that you need me to do?" He asks worriedly.Shaking my head, I try to cuddle even closer to him. That is almost impossible as I was already practically laying on top of him. Still, he laughs slightly as I scrunch as close as possible. Even though I never doubted that he is there for me, having the physical reminder is comforting. I could almost forget that the rest of the world exists when he holds me like this. Even knowing that I have to face the council today, I find it hard to get myself to pull back and really think about what all I have to do today. I have to find a way to learn what Safiya's secret is and put feelers out on the rest of the Council. With the Council divided I have to learn who is sid
Walking downstairs I notice the complete silence before I reach the bottom steps. The witches are not normally loud by any means but they do normally make some noise. Today there is virtually no noise. It is a little disconcerting to be in a house full of women and not hear a peep out of any of them.In the kitchen Morden has made an unlikely appearance as well. She is still wearing the outfit from last night but she is much cleaner than before she went to speak with the Council. It is an improvement to not wrinkle my nose at the smell for sure."Laina, I wanted to speak with you where nobody else would hear me." She says as she rushes over to me."Alright, I am listening." I tell her."No, no. We need to go somewhere else. Do you have somewhere we could speak in complete private that is not in this house?" She asks me.Nodding my head, I grab a cup of coffee and motion for her to follow me. The safest places that I know of are on the pack's land so that is where I am going to take he
I look at Morden carefully to ensure that there are no tricks going on. It seems awfully strange that right after speaking with the Council she is trying to be buddies. I know that she really wants her powers back and that is driving her but is she being honest with me or is she holding out hope that the Council will be able to reverse what I did to her."What is it that you think I should do then? I have a plan in place with Elle already that I am not going to share with anybody else but I would like to know what you are suggesting as well." I tell her."I suggest that you show them what you are really made of. Make sure they know just how powerful you really are. Most of them will find that with the amount of powers that you have there is no way that you are not blessed. By showing them all of your powers you are letting them know that you are not scared of them." She tells me.While that might be true, I also see the downside to this little plan. If I show them all of my powers the
It was a bit of a trip making it back to the witch house with Morden in tow. It did not matter where we went, all of the werewolves stopped and stared at her. Some even made rude comments to her and I did not have the heart to stop them. She did more than earn everything we do to her and more from what she did to me and my pack mates. Then again, now that she is my charge maybe I should be able to treat her with the kind of respect that I would want in return. "Are you ready to head back to the Witch House?" I ask her sounding more polite than intended."Yes. They do not really like me much here. I will have to come to terms with this because of what I did. I do deserve it all." She tells me with her eyes downcast once again. Is she ever going to look up at me again or will this always be the way that we are?"That is true. I am glad that you see it that way. I would hate for any of them trying to return the favor. The only family that you have left is Julia. She might want nothing
Now that we have a detailed plan ready for the lake, it is time to start trying to put it all into use. First off, we have to determine exactly how large we want the lake to be. I am thinking that I want it big enough that having the school house on the other side of the lake will give the girls plenty of space to not feel like they are being smothered by their family while they are training. Being able to venture forth and train on your own is something that most witches seem to excel at. They do not have their family pushing them to do things their way and instead can figure out who they are and what they want to do on their own. After we draw the boundaries on the lake we all walk towards the middle. Unlike most lakes, we want this one to have a bit of a gradual slope besides the pockets that are obviously going to be for fish nests. Catfish like to hide in the deep so we have to account for that as well.In order to make the lake as quickly as possible, I am going to do the intia
Sadly, the lake does not get finished by dinner time. I have never really noticed how much faster I am when I use my magic than other witches. I always just assumed that I was a smidge faster but after working with the others all day I have noticed that I am way more talented than I had thought. Still, the witches are doing a fantastic job on the lake. Even without the fish life in the lake yet it is beginning to take shape and look gorgeous. The color of the water and the plant life is just amazing. I love being able to see all of the way down to the bottom of the lake and watch the plants. Rojo has already moved himself into his new den while I am staying in the witch house. The Council was completely shocked to learn that I have a familiar as well. Apparently even they have not seen one for quite a while. I am quite enjoying watching them watch me. Even though they try to hide most of their emotions I can tell that they are begrudgingly impressed over what all I have been doing
