Walking downstairs I notice the complete silence before I reach the bottom steps. The witches are not normally loud by any means but they do normally make some noise. Today there is virtually no noise. It is a little disconcerting to be in a house full of women and not hear a peep out of any of them.In the kitchen Morden has made an unlikely appearance as well. She is still wearing the outfit from last night but she is much cleaner than before she went to speak with the Council. It is an improvement to not wrinkle my nose at the smell for sure."Laina, I wanted to speak with you where nobody else would hear me." She says as she rushes over to me."Alright, I am listening." I tell her."No, no. We need to go somewhere else. Do you have somewhere we could speak in complete private that is not in this house?" She asks me.Nodding my head, I grab a cup of coffee and motion for her to follow me. The safest places that I know of are on the pack's land so that is where I am going to take he
I look at Morden carefully to ensure that there are no tricks going on. It seems awfully strange that right after speaking with the Council she is trying to be buddies. I know that she really wants her powers back and that is driving her but is she being honest with me or is she holding out hope that the Council will be able to reverse what I did to her."What is it that you think I should do then? I have a plan in place with Elle already that I am not going to share with anybody else but I would like to know what you are suggesting as well." I tell her."I suggest that you show them what you are really made of. Make sure they know just how powerful you really are. Most of them will find that with the amount of powers that you have there is no way that you are not blessed. By showing them all of your powers you are letting them know that you are not scared of them." She tells me.While that might be true, I also see the downside to this little plan. If I show them all of my powers the
It was a bit of a trip making it back to the witch house with Morden in tow. It did not matter where we went, all of the werewolves stopped and stared at her. Some even made rude comments to her and I did not have the heart to stop them. She did more than earn everything we do to her and more from what she did to me and my pack mates. Then again, now that she is my charge maybe I should be able to treat her with the kind of respect that I would want in return. "Are you ready to head back to the Witch House?" I ask her sounding more polite than intended."Yes. They do not really like me much here. I will have to come to terms with this because of what I did. I do deserve it all." She tells me with her eyes downcast once again. Is she ever going to look up at me again or will this always be the way that we are?"That is true. I am glad that you see it that way. I would hate for any of them trying to return the favor. The only family that you have left is Julia. She might want nothing
Now that we have a detailed plan ready for the lake, it is time to start trying to put it all into use. First off, we have to determine exactly how large we want the lake to be. I am thinking that I want it big enough that having the school house on the other side of the lake will give the girls plenty of space to not feel like they are being smothered by their family while they are training. Being able to venture forth and train on your own is something that most witches seem to excel at. They do not have their family pushing them to do things their way and instead can figure out who they are and what they want to do on their own. After we draw the boundaries on the lake we all walk towards the middle. Unlike most lakes, we want this one to have a bit of a gradual slope besides the pockets that are obviously going to be for fish nests. Catfish like to hide in the deep so we have to account for that as well.In order to make the lake as quickly as possible, I am going to do the intia
Sadly, the lake does not get finished by dinner time. I have never really noticed how much faster I am when I use my magic than other witches. I always just assumed that I was a smidge faster but after working with the others all day I have noticed that I am way more talented than I had thought. Still, the witches are doing a fantastic job on the lake. Even without the fish life in the lake yet it is beginning to take shape and look gorgeous. The color of the water and the plant life is just amazing. I love being able to see all of the way down to the bottom of the lake and watch the plants. Rojo has already moved himself into his new den while I am staying in the witch house. The Council was completely shocked to learn that I have a familiar as well. Apparently even they have not seen one for quite a while. I am quite enjoying watching them watch me. Even though they try to hide most of their emotions I can tell that they are begrudgingly impressed over what all I have been doing
"That sounds similar to what others have reported in the past. It has been so long since someone has spoken to her. Have you possibly been reading some of the old reports that mention speaking to her at all?" Katrin asks in awe."We have records of others speaking with her?" I ask in surprise. When the others confirm it I continue. "No, I have not read any others. I did not even know that there were others."The Council members share a look with each other that suggests they were hoping that they could have discredited me by learning that I had been reading some of these records. Seems like they will do whatever they can to make sure that I am not taken seriously. There is plenty more evidence that I have spoken to her though. From my extra powers all of the way to some of the knowledge that I have found. "It is quite astounding that you have described meeting her so vividly. Nobody has ever mentioned seeing any type of physical form and only hearing her voice. I wonder why she waite
Dante was in my room waiting for me long before I even made it up to my bedroom. As soon as I stepped inside, he all but tackled me into the door frame. I laugh lightly as I allow him to hold me for a while. Sometimes as part witch I forget how much contact werewolves have to have with their mates before they start to feel like they are missing a part of themselves. I laugh as he nuzzles into my shoulder and I lazily stroke his back. He holds me tight for a good five minutes before moving back and giving me a sheepish look that makes me laugh more. He sometimes seems to think that I get annoyed with all of the touchiness of werewolves. Even though I am not as touchy as other werewolves I do understand the need for werewolves to feel that connection. My parents were the same way so it has never bothered me as much as it would a full blood witch. "I am glad that you are here too." I tell him with a grin."You have no idea how happy I am to be here. I have missed you every second. Just
Even though Dante had come to see me so that we could both end up getting some good sleep, we stay up half of the night before finally collapsing in an exhausted heap. I manage to get the best sleep possible for the rest of the night so that I do still wake up feeling full of energy and ready to face the day. Rolling over, I see that Dante is still sleeping. Leaning in, I give him a small kiss that makes his eyes flutter open slowly. Pulling me down closer, he nuzzles into me as he begins to wake up. I chuckle as I hold him against me. I am dreading facing another day with the Council. They are going to try to prove that I do not care about my witches and that I care about the pack more. The pack may have been around longer but the more I learn about some of the witches, the more they begin to feel like family as well."Do I have to go back?" He asks me still sounding as if he is half asleep."Yes. You know that I will be there later for the pack dinner though. I have already warned
