Now that we have a detailed plan ready for the lake, it is time to start trying to put it all into use. First off, we have to determine exactly how large we want the lake to be. I am thinking that I want it big enough that having the school house on the other side of the lake will give the girls plenty of space to not feel like they are being smothered by their family while they are training. Being able to venture forth and train on your own is something that most witches seem to excel at. They do not have their family pushing them to do things their way and instead can figure out who they are and what they want to do on their own. After we draw the boundaries on the lake we all walk towards the middle. Unlike most lakes, we want this one to have a bit of a gradual slope besides the pockets that are obviously going to be for fish nests. Catfish like to hide in the deep so we have to account for that as well.In order to make the lake as quickly as possible, I am going to do the intia
Sadly, the lake does not get finished by dinner time. I have never really noticed how much faster I am when I use my magic than other witches. I always just assumed that I was a smidge faster but after working with the others all day I have noticed that I am way more talented than I had thought. Still, the witches are doing a fantastic job on the lake. Even without the fish life in the lake yet it is beginning to take shape and look gorgeous. The color of the water and the plant life is just amazing. I love being able to see all of the way down to the bottom of the lake and watch the plants. Rojo has already moved himself into his new den while I am staying in the witch house. The Council was completely shocked to learn that I have a familiar as well. Apparently even they have not seen one for quite a while. I am quite enjoying watching them watch me. Even though they try to hide most of their emotions I can tell that they are begrudgingly impressed over what all I have been doing
"That sounds similar to what others have reported in the past. It has been so long since someone has spoken to her. Have you possibly been reading some of the old reports that mention speaking to her at all?" Katrin asks in awe."We have records of others speaking with her?" I ask in surprise. When the others confirm it I continue. "No, I have not read any others. I did not even know that there were others."The Council members share a look with each other that suggests they were hoping that they could have discredited me by learning that I had been reading some of these records. Seems like they will do whatever they can to make sure that I am not taken seriously. There is plenty more evidence that I have spoken to her though. From my extra powers all of the way to some of the knowledge that I have found. "It is quite astounding that you have described meeting her so vividly. Nobody has ever mentioned seeing any type of physical form and only hearing her voice. I wonder why she waite
Dante was in my room waiting for me long before I even made it up to my bedroom. As soon as I stepped inside, he all but tackled me into the door frame. I laugh lightly as I allow him to hold me for a while. Sometimes as part witch I forget how much contact werewolves have to have with their mates before they start to feel like they are missing a part of themselves. I laugh as he nuzzles into my shoulder and I lazily stroke his back. He holds me tight for a good five minutes before moving back and giving me a sheepish look that makes me laugh more. He sometimes seems to think that I get annoyed with all of the touchiness of werewolves. Even though I am not as touchy as other werewolves I do understand the need for werewolves to feel that connection. My parents were the same way so it has never bothered me as much as it would a full blood witch. "I am glad that you are here too." I tell him with a grin."You have no idea how happy I am to be here. I have missed you every second. Just
Even though Dante had come to see me so that we could both end up getting some good sleep, we stay up half of the night before finally collapsing in an exhausted heap. I manage to get the best sleep possible for the rest of the night so that I do still wake up feeling full of energy and ready to face the day. Rolling over, I see that Dante is still sleeping. Leaning in, I give him a small kiss that makes his eyes flutter open slowly. Pulling me down closer, he nuzzles into me as he begins to wake up. I chuckle as I hold him against me. I am dreading facing another day with the Council. They are going to try to prove that I do not care about my witches and that I care about the pack more. The pack may have been around longer but the more I learn about some of the witches, the more they begin to feel like family as well."Do I have to go back?" He asks me still sounding as if he is half asleep."Yes. You know that I will be there later for the pack dinner though. I have already warned
Taking a deep breath, I exit the family quarters and make my way down the stairs to where the witches are all having breakfast. It is much later than I normally get breakfast considering my nighttime shenanigans but I still join them for some simple eggs and toast. I recently spotted some chickens around here so I can only assume that they are perfectly okay with eating eggs as long as they remain unfertilized.I wolf down my food in record time before remembering that witches tend to take their time while eating. They believe that it helps them to feel full with a smaller amount of food if they eat faster. Werewolves on the other hand, they chow down as much food as they can as quickly as they can and rely on their advanced metabolism to keep them slim.Looking around, I notice that the other witches are all watching me finish my plate. Some seem absolutely shocked while others like Hazel and Elle seem entertained by it. They do not seem to mind me scarfing down my food like it is my
I am practically bursting with excitement as the time draws nearer for the pack dinner. I have not seen my cousin since I had to sneak her back to the pack when the Council showed up. Heck, most of the pack I have not come into contact with except in passing for what feels like months now. It will be nice to relax and hang out with my pack once more."So, be honest, how excited are you to go to that dinner tonight?" Hazel says walking up behind me. I had been inspecting her group's work and had not noticed her walking towards me. These girls really have been doing a fantastic job with all of the decorative boulders and chairs around the lake. They even added a few trees in strategic places so that we can always find shade if it is really hot out."Beyond excited actually. It has been far too long since I have been with my pack. I love staying here with the Coven but I like having time with the pack as well. I spent so long thinking that I was just a werewolf that it is taking me long
I manage to shut down the mind link just enough that Dante cannot tell which direction I am coming from. Before he knows it, I land on his shoulder still in my cardinal form. He jumps slightly but looks over at me and smiles. Of course he would know that it is me. Besides, how often do birds just land on someone's shoulder randomly?"I was starting to think that I was going to have to find a way to sprout a pair of wings and fly up there to get you. Everything okay?" He asks me.Hopping off of him, I shift back into myself in middair and hastily pull on the clothing that he brought out for me. He must have brought it out when he figured out that I was not flying through the air in my human form. Although, I am sure that there is a way that I can get that to happen as well."Yes, everything is okay. I just needed a minute for myself." I admit."I gathered as much. I am just glad that you are here now and feeling much more at peace than you have recently." He says as he pulls me closer
