88. Drunken words

Jamie chugged his fifth glass of whiskey that night. 

The bitter taste of the liquid was beginning to soften on his tongue, making his head feel lighter. He struggled to maintain his balance and rested his head on the bar counter. 

In hopes of finding some peace, he closed his eyes, but images from a few hours ago continued to haunt his mind. 

Just the mere thought of her angered him. She was an impossible woman to deal with. The more he tried to understand her, the more unpredictable she was becoming. Lately, he felt as though he never knew her. Did he truly get married to a woman he couldn’t understand? When he first met her, she was a simple woman.
