"You did what?!" Old man Thomas's eyes bulged in shock after River summoned a few essential surviving members of the rebellion to a meeting hall at night, briefing them on her discussion with the vampires.

The hall was dimly lit with fluorescent light bulbs, casting their faint blue light on the faces of the gathered wolves.

Her eyes darted around the room awkwardly, but she ended up giving a defeated shrug. "These are desperate times, Thomas. I did what I had to do. Besides, the vampires will be of great help against the rogue witches." She paused, her gaze becoming solemn before she continued. "Let's be honest with ourselves... I'm still basically inexperienced when it comes to witchcraft and wouldn't be able to handle so many rogue witches on my own."
