River sprang to her feet, her eyes blazing with anger. A protest? Against the vampires? When will the wolves understand that not everyone of a different race is an enemy?

Gonzalo observed her mounting anger and gently took her hand to help her relax. Leaning in, he whispered, "Pequena, calm down. They're still your people after all. We just need to reassure them that we have their best interests at heart."

She drew in a deep breath. He was right. She couldn't lash out at them for being worried about their safety. But she couldn't help feeling like there was something else at play here.

"What's the situation like? How many protesters are there?" River turned to the soldier, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
