Preparing The Messengers

The next morning, River woke up feeling rejuvenated. It had been a while since she'd felt this happy. She felt butterflies in her stomach and couldn't stop smiling as she replayed last night's memories in her mind.

"Good morning, Pequena." Gonzalo's face was the first thing that greeted her, his voice snapping her out of her thoughts. He had a warm smile on his face as he gazed at her. He placed his hand on his head, looking like he'd just woken up too.

"Good morning, my love," River replied, her smile only getting wider. But then she squinted her eyes, looking around the room before bringing her gaze back to him. "How long have you been up?"

Gonzalo shrugged before speaking. "I don't know... Maybe thirty minutes. Or an hour? Time moves fast when you're gazing at the love of your life."

River's face heated up with a blush, as she tried looking away. "Don't start, Gonzalo."
