Chapter Seventy-Five

Emma hasn't returned since the last time she was here. I didn't know if she ran away or she was pretending to the twins. How could she betray us like this? What was her intention?

I wondered briefly if Dylan was actively searching for me, what was Daniel doing? How did they take the news of my disappearance?

My thoughts strayed to my kids and I felt the overwhelming urge to cry. I failed them as a mother, I didn't know if they were alright, if they were being fed well and properly taken care of.

Reynolds had released me from the ropes and chains but refused to disclose any sort of information about them to me. I wasn't sure they were in this building where I was being held hostage because I'd never for once heard the cry or sounds of children.

My mind flashed back to all our happy memories together. It wasn't easy but we we're happy. Helen and Victor, the kids and I. What went wrong, why are we paying for the sins we didn't commit.
