Emily's POV

“Alpha, how could I possibly tell you about this? I know it's not your fault that outsiders choose to attack me on the day of our marriage.”

Jacob chuckled slightly. “You're still the same as before, Emily.”

“And so are you.”

“I remember the maid that was in the room. I remember she served the former Luna even till her last breath.”

I choosed not to say too much to trigger Jacob. This time that he was in my room, I knew that he was trying to gauge me up to see what I was trying to do as his new Luna. If he had a clue what I really meant to do then I would assume that he would shut me down in so many ramifications which was why I had to be careful.

“Well, it just happened that I choose her. She's just a maid so It doesn't matter.”

“Just a maid, I see.” Jacob said, and I nodded.

“By the way, I sent some of my men to investigate who those men were that attacked you.”

“And who are they?” I asked.

“Not sure yet. I just came to tell you that I have nothing to do with the attack

Emily's POV “Oh, they are?” I asked with a slight smile and she nodded.“Well, that's nice. It's good to know that people know me here in Galahad clan.” I said and she smiled.“By the way, Luna, what are you doing here?” The maid asked me.“Oh, it's… What are you doing by the way?” I asked the maid.“Well, I was giving the security guards some food.”“Move, let me do it.” I said.“Why?” She asked.“Well, I would like to do it, the security guards deserve it.” I said and the maid moved away.“Fine.”I took over the maid’s spot and started to hand out meals to the guards untill it was all finished.“Thank you Luna.”“Thank you very much, Luna.”I smiled and watched them all leave. Then I was alone with Fayne.“That was nice of me, isn't it?” I said.“It is.” Fayne said.He looked around us and said, “It should be enough to get you moving in the future things you'll do.”“You think so?” I said.“Yes, you should get some sleep now, Luna.” Fayne bowed his head at me.“Where do you sleep,

Emily's POV There was a loud silence in the room which made me feel a bit nervous. I looked around the room and smiled.“Although I recently just arrived at Galahad clan, Jacob has been treating me pretty well.” I responded with a calm smile. “I hope I can calm Jacob's worries and rule Galahad clan together with him.”Matteo gave me a what-are-you-doing smile which I ignored.I stood on my feet and turned to everyone. “Thank you for having me, my name is Emily Silver.”There was a gasp in the room which I ignored. Although I was married to the Galahad clan and family, I was still my own individual and I didn't want that to change simply because I was married.“I didn't know there was such an interesting Luna in Galahad clan,” The Luna of Crystal Pack said which made me smile.“Anyway, let's start the meeting.” The Alpha of Crystal Pack said and I sat back down next to Matteo. “There is a group of rogues who attacked Crystal Pack and I need the help of the Galahad pack and the Donova

Emily's POV “You dare, Matteo? I'm your sister! My wolf has nothing to do with this!”“You're not a full werewolf without your wolf, Emily. You better find a way to regain it before I abandon you to the devices of Galahad pack.” Matteo responded coldly.“And father? He didn't send you here to look after me either, then what about elder brother?”“Forget about it, no one cares about you. In fact, since you got married, you lost your value to Donovan pack. You should be grateful that I even bothered to come over here.”“You'll regret this Matteo, I know you will.”Matteo headed back to his carriage and rode off, leaving me alone.I fell to the ground, tears rolling down my cheeks.“You'll regret this, Matteo.” I repeated as tears fell from my eyes which I quickly wiped once I sensed someone coming over. The high that I once rode on completely shattered because of Matteo.“Hey, you okay?” I heard a familiar voice behind me.“Completely fine, now leave me alone.” I said only for the pers

Emily's POV “Ugly things,” I said, tracing the wound.“Luna, come with me.” Melissa said.“Just tell me where the Alpha is and I'll go to him, I have another task for you to handle.” I said.“Okay, what task is that?” She asked me softly.“Take Fayne here to the library.”Melissa hesitated but then she nodded, “Okay, I guess I can do that.”“Where is the Alpha?” I asked.“In the dinning room.” She responded.“Okay, I'll go to him. Make sure no one gets in the way of Fayne's study.”“Understood, but who is this Fayne exactly?” Melissa asked me. “He seems to be human.”“He is human,” I responded. “He used to be the human king's hunter but that is all in the past, Fayne is an helper to me so just treat him like you would treat me.”Fayne's lips parted but I decided to not pay him any attention. “I'm going to leave now.”I started to head back to the pack house.“But Luna, will you be alright?” Fayne asked me to which I nodded.“Yeah, just go.”I proceeded to walk forward while keeping m

Fayne's POV “The Luna told me to take you to the library. There's no problem with that, but since you're not a werewolf, it can be hard for you to keep your bearing there.”“Can you tell me what your name is?” I asked her.“Oh, it's Melissa.” she responded.I nodded. “Then let's go, Melissa. And, you can call me Fayne.”“I know, the Luna told me.”“I see.” I responded.“Come with me,” she said.I followed Melissa to the library where several maids passed by. I guess they were in the lowest of the hierarchy but somehow they were still higher than me. After all, they were werewolves.“Come on in,” Melissa ushered me and I looked around at the multiple scripts on the shelves in the library and sighed.“I'll be right by the door in case you need me.”I turned to her. “No, please go and tend to the Luna. I think she needs you more right now.”“You're in danger more, I'd like to guard you. You don't know how dangerous werewolves can be. You're just a human.”“I know I'll be fine.” I said a

Emily's POV Fayne looked at me, his gaze heavy. He just wouldn't understand. When I was in the water, I saw a flash of my wolf. I didn't know whether it was a vision or an imagination but it was definitely a message. I saw my wolf drowning. She was trying to tell me something but my senses seemed so short from it that I could barely understand it.“I’m sorry Fayne but I need to meditate.”I sat at the edge of the water and closed my eyes about to meditate but Fayne sighed. “No, your dress is wet. You're going to catch a cold if you stay in this for long.”“Well, you're right.” I responded. “But I feel that I might lose the moment to catch up with my wolf.”“No you won't.” Fayne was about to place a hand on his shoulder but then he pulled away.“The easier you are on yourself the more meditative state you'll be in, thus making it easier to connect with your wolf. Isn't it?”Although I didn't want to do what Fayne was suggesting, I felt it wasn't a bad idea. I was always indulging to a

Emily's POV I turned to Fayne and his lips parted. I looked further ahead and sighed, feeling my ability to smell come back to life. Suddenly, I was surrounded by floral scent which filled my senses.“Guess the drink you gave me worked, Fayne. My sense of smell is back.”“It is?” Fayne smiled at me and I nodded.“I would like to try and run in my wolf form.” I said.Fayne's eyes widened. “Alright.”He turned around, hiding his gaze from my body. I removed my outer robe and shifted into my wolf, tearing my inner robes into shreds. My wolf felt completely free and I ran into the woods, feeling the air soak me in completely. For the first time, I felt completely covered in my essence. I was finally in touch with my inner self.As my paws danced against the softness of the ground, I felt completely grounded and rooted.“Where have you been all this while?” I asked my wolf.“Although I was unconscious, I was always with you. Sorry I didn't connect with you sooner.”I sobbed internally whil

Emily's POV “Jacob, you're here. Have a seat.” I gestured towards a seat at the table.“Thank you,” He sat down on a chair at a table and I sat down with him as well.“What is going on?” I asked him.“I just wanted to talk to you.” He said.“Oh I see,” I responded. “About what?”I was fighting everything in me not to snap at him. I reminded myself that in order for me to get what I wanted, I needed to be strong but mostly calm and composed.“Well, I'm going to a trip to a Redstone pack for personal reasons. Would you like to come with me?”I thought about it. It could be a plan to get me to eat and drink in another location so he can poison me and blame it on others.“Actually, I want to explore this place a bit more so I'm not going.”“Are you sure?” He asked me.“Yeah,” I answered. “By the way, what are you going to do in Redstone pack?”“Well, just to build some connections that's all.”I hesitated. It sounded like a good thing to go to Redstone and make some connections but right

Emily's POV I watched Link walk away, shoulders tight with unsaid words and silent wounds. The door clicked shut behind him, and the silence he left behind weighed heavy on my chest. He’d always been loyal—my right hand, my shadow. He never asked for more than orders. Never demanded space in my heart. But tonight, he had. And I didn’t know how to answer him.Because I wasn’t the same woman I used to be.And part of that… was because of Fayne.Fayne, who’d woken something I’d buried deep. Not just desire, but the terrifying ache of being wanted—not as Alpha, not as a weapon or symbol—but as *me*. I found myself walking to his room again, steps slow, unsure. It was past midnight, the pack settled in sleep. I told myself I was just checking on his recovery. That I was still Alpha, and this was just duty. But my heart was louder than logic. When I pushed the door open, Fayne was awake, sitting at the edge of the bed. His torso still bandaged, eyes dimmed with exhaustion, but he looked u

Emily's POV The days grew quieter, the once-unruly tension that plagued the halls of Galahad now reduced to a soft hum beneath the daily rhythm of leadership. For the first time in weeks, I felt as though I could breathe. There were no intrusions, no visitors at the gate demanding answers about Jacob, no crises to solve before breakfast. The air smelled of pine and freedom.Fayne’s recovery had been slow but steady. I made sure he was well-fed, had the best healers watching over him, and—more often than I’d like to admit—I found myself checking in on him personally. I told myself it was part of my duty. But the truth was simpler.I missed him.I missed the way his eyes softened whenever I walked into the room. I missed the quiet loyalty in his words, the strength in his silence. I even missed the foolish little smirks he gave me when I tried to maintain my mask of indifference. We never talked about what had happened—the kiss, the fevered declaration that I was his wife, the night I’

Emily's POV The truth of his words sat heavily between us. I didn't confirm or deny it.“You read me too well,” I said.“Only because I’ve spent every waking second trying to.”His words should’ve unnerved me. Instead, they warmed something inside me that I hadn’t allowed to feel in a long time. That night, I couldn’t sleep. Not because of nightmares. But because I was starting to crave the quiet presence of a man I once saw as a threat.Over the next few days, he made it worse—in the best way.He brought me coffee in the morning. Not just any coffee. The kind I liked—black, strong, with a hint of cinnamon. He never asked how I took it. He just knew. One night, during a strategy session, I was so tired I nearly fell asleep mid-sentence. Fayne didn’t say a word. He took the papers from my hands, led me to the chair by the fire, and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders. His hand brushed my cheek so briefly it might’ve been a ghost of a touch—but I felt it for hours after.I started fi

Emily's POV The silence between Fayne and me had grown roots—thick, winding vines that curled between glances and swallowed every word we didn’t say.Weeks of brushing past each other. Weeks of watching him from across the training field, his arms slick with sweat, his blade catching sunlight like it had something to prove. Weeks of pretending that I didn’t notice the way he stood a little straighter when I approached, the way his gaze never dropped until I made it.But I felt it.All of it.And I hated the ache of not knowing what lingered behind his quiet loyalty. Or worse—what lingered in me.Tonight, I couldn’t take it anymore. It was late. Most of the pack was asleep. Only the night guards remained, posted at the perimeter under a silver-stained moon. I moved through the stone hallways with purpose, each step echoing like a heartbeat down the corridor.I stopped in front of his room. The door wasn’t locked. I pushed it open without knocking, just as I always did when I wanted to

Emily's POV "And if he turns on you?" Link stepped closer. "Will you wait until your throat is already slit before you believe me?"I stared at him for a long moment. He was right in many ways. Link had always done the dirty work—without asking questions, without demanding praise. But tonight, he wasn’t just looking at me like his Alpha. He was looking at me like I belonged to him."Is that what this is?" I whispered. "You’re jealous?"His jaw tightened. "I’m not a child, Emily. I don’t get jealous. I get dangerous."His words weren’t a threat. They were a promise.I moved past him to the window, needing space, needing air. Outside, the pack grounds lay quiet under the weight of the night. I could see the training fields where warriors used to train under Jacob’s rule. Where I now held court."You’ve always had my loyalty, Link," I said quietly. "But you don’t own me."He was behind me now. I could feel the heat of him, the restraint in his breath. "Not yet."I turned sharply, our fa

Emily's POV The silence hung, suffocating and electric. I stood above Rosie, chest heaving, the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. My knuckles throbbed, my limbs ached, but I stood tall. Victorious.Rosie looked up at me, blood on her lip, her pride cracked and leaking through her gaze. And yet—there was something else in her expression now. Something unfamiliar.Respect.The crowd still held its breath, eyes darting from me to Rosie and back again. They were waiting for someone to speak. Waiting to see if the new world we just stepped into would break them... or lead them.Rosie shifted onto one knee, then the other. Slowly, deliberately, she bowed her head to me.“I yield,” she said, voice rough but clear. “Alpha Emily.”The words echoed through the clearing like a bell tolling across a battlefield.A few gasps broke the stillness. Then, like falling dominoes, the rest of her warriors lowered their heads. Submission. Unity.I should’ve felt triumph. I should’ve smiled. But

Emily's POV The night stretched on like a blade, its sharp edge pressing against my nerves. Sleep was a distant thought, scattered like ashes to the wind. My mind raced, thoughts tangled with fear, determination, and something darker, something that tasted like revenge. I stayed in my room, pacing, my fingers clenching and unclenching. Fayne’s words echoed in my head, and for once, his voice sounded like something more than irritation. It was concern. Desperation. But I couldn’t afford to let it sway me. Not now. Before dawn broke, I slipped from my room and made my way to the training hall. The air was cool, fresh with the scent of rain that hadn’t quite fallen. It was the kind of crispness that made your lungs ache with every breath. The hall was empty, silent but for the quiet creak of the wooden floor beneath my boots. I didn’t want witnesses. Didn’t need anyone to see the way my hands trembled or the ragged edge of my breathing. I grabbed a training dummy, tossing it

Emily's POV “She’s on the eastern border. Brought at least a dozen of her warriors with her.” Melissa’s eyes were wide, panic trembling in her voice. “She’s demanding to speak with you. Alone.” “Alone?” I scoffed. “She must think I’m a fool.” “It’s a trap,” Fayne said, stepping forward. His presence was both reassuring and maddening. After our argument, his loyalty still felt uncertain, a phantom thread swaying in the wind. “She’ll try to catch you off guard.” “I know.” I met his gaze, my own fury barely contained. “But she’s challenging my authority in front of the pack. If I refuse her request, I’ll look weak.” Fayne’s jaw tightened. “So, you’re going?” “Yes.” “I’ll go with you.” His words were iron-clad. “No.” I shook my head, my voice firm. “If she sees me bring you, she’ll think I’m too afraid to face her on my own. This is a test, Fayne. And I’m going to pass it.” His expression twisted with frustration, but he didn’t argue. Melissa, however, looked ready to lau

Emily's POV Fayne remained by my side, his loyalty unwavering. Or so it seemed. But as the days crept by, I couldn’t ignore the way his eyes lingered on me, as if searching for something beyond my words. His fever had broken, but something else had shifted in him, something I couldn’t quite grasp. One afternoon, I found him in the training grounds, slashing through wooden dummies with a ferocity that bordered on madness. Sweat slicked his skin, his breaths ragged. “Fayne,” I called out, my voice slicing through the air. He stilled, knife held loosely in his hand, eyes glazed over with whatever war raged in his mind. “Emily.” His voice was hoarse. “I was just... preparing.” “Preparing for what?” I stepped closer, my gaze sweeping over the wreckage of splintered wood. “For whatever comes.” His gaze flicked to me, something wild and desperate gleaming in his eyes. “You’re surrounded by enemies, Emily. Rosie. The pack members who doubt you. They’ll all come for you eventually
