chapter 166

Anna's POV

It hadn't been long since I woke up with a start.

I had cried myself to sleep earlier, draining me of all my energy and once again, I was up and was about to repeat the same thing.

Staring at the door with my legs pulled up to my chin, I kept on praying and hoping that someone would walk through it.

It doesn't matter who the person is at this point, I just want someone to walk in and tell me that everything is going to be fine.

I just need reassurance that Maya was going to return to my side and I swear with all that I have, this was going to be the last time we would engage in something of this sort.

Still staring at the door, my eyes began to hurt as tears started to pool in it, making me uncomfortable.

Several times, I tried to take my eyes off the door but I couldn't, I ended up returning my gaze to it.

When I couldn't take it anymore, I sat upright only to fall back to the bed with a thud. I was weak and I couldn't sit still for up to a minute.
