Anna's POV

My whole body was aching. It was as if I had engaged in some sort of manual labor all through the night and now I was facing the aftermath of it.

Grabbing my head which was banging and was at the verge of splitting open,I tried to sit up but my bones were too frail, making me fall back into the bed.

“Lillian.” I muttered. She ought to be here by now, the sun rays were already seeping through the curtains.

Suddenly, my hands brushed against a warm body, and with the strength which I didn't know I possessed, I turned in the opposite direction, locking eyes with Alpha Jasper who was smiling at me.

“How are you feeling my lady?” He asked, pushing my hair away from my face.

“I'm aching all over.” I mumbled, wincing to drive home my point.

“Had it been you allowed me to call the physician, you would have been whole by now.” He said through gritted teeth.

Now standing next to me, he helped me sit and then propped me on the pillows.
