The look on his face showed his displeasure with my request and I began to wonder why.

Maya was my friend and in fact the only person that was close to me at the moment so I wasn't wrong requesting her presence.

“Are you suspecting her too?” I couldn't help but to ask, trying to bottle up my anger in case my inquiry turned out to be positive.

“I don't trust anyone.” He replied nonchalantly.

“Lillian was your right hand maid whom you trusted and even went ahead to defend even after learning about her crime. I don't trust anyone.” He snapped.
