Leah POV
The little girl had something to say, it was obvious and I had a hunch on who it was that might have shot the arrow at me. It was a near hit so that person had to be good in weaponry.
“Anne,” Stephanie raised her voice.
I heard Damian growl at her immediately.
Then he moved to me and picked me up by my arm, “Let’s leave it to Stephanie, I believe that she knows how to handle this,” He said.
I sighed in frustration and allowed him to take me out of the dungeon.
When we got back to the room, I could not contain my anger.
“I was almost there, she was about to say something,” I muttered to myself as I kept pacing about.
Damian sighed and came to hold me by my shoulders. He used his index finger to move the strands of my hair that had covered a part of my face, his gaze, affectionate and soothing.
“It’s alright Anne, you don’t n
Stephanie POVThat small brat would have said something to Anne. I thought angrily and ran my hands through my hair. Pacing around, I decided I had to tell Damian first before she did and so I went to find him. I was walking through the corridor when I heard someone say something from Anne’s room. I placed my ear to listen more carefully because I thought that I was starting to hear things. She was muttering some incoherent words. “Spells?” I asked myself. Something was wrong and I was going to find out. I walked past her door and met him just coming back. “Damian,” I called him. He turned to look at me. He was still mine, and I would make sure I got rid of her for trying to take what was mine.“The girl, she died,” I said. His eyes went wide in shock. “Yes, she tried to escape and ended up killing herself in the woods because I was after her,” “Why would she do such a thing? She was just a child,” He said a bit sorrowfully. “Anne, she witnessed her die,” I said to him. I
Leah POV“Have we been able to meet up the number of the stolen gems?” I asked Evelyn.I was very exhausted. I had been working my butt off but there was more to it than just being dedicated. I needed to get my mind off a lot of things that were bothering me, among which was the way my wolf was awakening.“Princess...” Evelyn called out my name.I blinked a few times before looking at her.“I lost you there for some minutes. Are you sure that you don’t want to rest?” She asked.I sighed, “No, we have to get this done,”She nodded, turned back to resume her work then looked back at me, “The gems are still a little far behind but we hope to get it completed as soon as possible. With how much work we are putting in, of course, it will work out.” She piped in.“And one more thing,”I looked at her wit
Thomas POVI knocked over all the containers and bottles on my bedside table.“How dare she? Who does she think that she is?” I asked no one in particular.“There is nothing so special about her. She just wants to ruin all that I have worked for. It’s not like Damian is a recognized Alpha. He is just the Alpha of rebels, to be more profoundly stated, outlaws,” I ranted. My chest heaved up and down as I spoke. That Anne was really riling me up. She was getting on my nerves.“What is the matter?” Lucia asked.“It’s Anne or whatever she calls herself,”“What has she done?” Lucia asked further.Lucia was the only one I could lean on to some extent.“She has done quite a lot. She wants to make sure that the Alliance doesn’t hold. I heard her say that to Damian and I don't like it at all. She is s
Leah POV I got to my room, feeling very angry at myself. I trashed everything that was placed on my table. That bastard! He hasn’t changed at all. All he cared about was power. He looked down on us and talked down about Damian but he was still here trying to land a deal with him. I sincerely hoped Damian had finally come to a conclusion about what he wanted to do about Thomas. It was really a bad idea leaving him to roam freely about in the territory and the mansion. I didn’t need a priest to tell me what he actually wanted from us. It was the mined lead and Damian’s ideas for the weapons. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths to try to calm my nerves. My room door opened and Evelyn walked in. “Princess, you seem to be very angry at Alpha Thomas,” She stated. “I have every reason to be, Evelyn,” “But you speak to him like you have known him for a very long time and I find that rather intriguing,” She commented. That’s because I do. I wanted to say but then I held myself.“Y
Stephanie POVI could not get what I heard out of my head the day I walked past Anne’s room. It sounded very incoherent but then it also sounded ancient. I was no fool. I’ve been taking my classes very seriously as a child before I became a rogue and I knew when a witch was casting a spell, what it sounded like.I also could not get the look of her eyes the day I just barged into her room after her little table squabble with Thomas out of my mind either. It looked so clear to me that it seemed like the two of them knew each other but what really baffled me was the confusion on Thomas’ whenever she talked. He might not know her but he recognized something significantly familiar in her especially in how she spoke to him. Her constant squabble with him also didn't go unnoticed by me. They were so glaring.I had walked by the factory today too and I heard her get into an argument with him. There was something h
Stephanie POVI gasped and quickly looked away so she wouldn't notice she was being watched. I was panting heavily from the shock, my heart could break through my skin with how hard I was breathing.Oh my! What did I just see? I thought to myself.I looked once again from behind the tree and saw that she had bent down once again to put on her clothes. She stood up, looked around, and then made her way through the other path. It must lead to the mansion. It wasn’t Anne who I had just seen. It was someone else but all of a sudden, she looked like Anne.“What is going on?” I gasped."Who is that? An imposter pretending to be Anne, using black magic?” I questioned myselfI ran my hands through my head because of how crazy everything seemed, then looked at the direction she went once again. She had disappeared into the forest.I gently walked down the cliff side and back to
Thomas POV“What could you possibly offer me, Rogue?” I asked her.“A lot. A chance for you to finally get your revenge on Leah or whoever she is,” Stephanie replied.I wouldn't lie, I was very shocked when she said that my suspicions were correct but then again, I couldn’t jump to any conclusions yet.I looked skeptically at her, “First, tell me, how do you know for sure that she is Leah? You have never seen her before. So how can you jump to such a conclusion? I believe you don’t think that I am naive,” I said to her while watching her intently.I couldn't believe any of them. They were all Rogues. A pack of freaking Rogues. Goddess knew what crime they might have committed to be denounced to become Rogues. I had to play them if they thought they were smart.“I did not jump to any conclusions and I don’t need to see her to know what she looks like. Green ey
Leah POV I abruptly left the dining table to my room and shut the door angrily. How dare he? He was feeding them with lies about me. “But you are Anne now, Leah," My mind chided me but I was too angry to listen. He was doing it on purpose. He wanted to rile me up. But how could he possibly do that if he didn’t even know that I was Leah, to begin with? I bit my lips when I realized the mistake I had made. My reaction would make it obvious that something was going on and that perhaps, there was something about him that I knew. This would not go unnoticed by Damian. I grunted. All this was that bastard’s fault. Everything was his fault but now, he was trying to make me look bad. I thought angrily to myself. He was a very big jerk. He deserved the worst kinds of punishment. Thomas was characterized by lies. It was a part of who he was and how he rose to the top. He used me and discarded me so easily and now, he was back again to take more pounds of my flesh. I got so angry th
