Chapter 54

Gwen's POV

I paced around the room, my heart hammering against my ribs. Every second felt like an eternity of misery. What was I supposed to do? Should I walk out and face him? Who could I possibly ask for help in a situation like this?

It was all my fault.

I raked my fingers through my hair, groaning in frustration. If only I had listened to Reagan—if only I had given him the chance to explain before things spiraled out of control. The guilt gnawed at me, twisting in my stomach until it was unbearable.

Suddenly, I heard the door creak open, footsteps entering the house. The familiar scent hit me before I even saw him.

Reagan.

I dashed out of my room, my heart pounding as I ran to meet him. But the moment I laid eyes on him, my heart shattered into pieces. He was covered in blood—his clothes, his skin, his hands—all smeared in crimson. He looked drained, barely holding himself together, but what hurt me the most was the rage burning in his eyes.

"Reag—" I started, my voice trembling.
