Daisy’s POV

“I am stepping out, there’s food on the counter, and I kept your drugs beside the glass of water,”

Astrid barely looked at me as she spoke, and before I could whisper a thank you, she had shut the door on my face.

The tension between us was palpable, we barely exchanged words or glances, our only interaction was the constant instruction to take the drugs.

I had tried complaining about the sudden increase from a pill to three, but I bit my lips against it.

Things were already rocky between us, and I would only further rock the boat if I protested again.

I did the cowardly thing ever, accepting the drugs and pretending to take them.

It’s easier to accept than to argue, as the saying goes, “saying yes can never be a burden,”

It’s almost two weeks, with no contact from Brittany, Priya or Hades. It was like they had completely forgotten about my existence.
