CHAPTER 59

“We couldn’t see the facts through our fury.”

Daisy’s POV

“Hades,”

I called out in the darkness, a broken sob broke out of me.

“Hey,” Xavier said calmly, his hands rubbing my back soothingly as I continued to cry.

“He, he,” I tried to say, my chest constricting as I tried to speak.

“Shh,” Xavier shushed me.

I was far from being consolable, my world had crumpled right before my eyes and there was nothing I could do to change it.

“Drink this, it will help,” Xavier said, placing a warm cup in my hand.

I took small sips, feeling the liquid trickle warmly down my throat, filling my body with a warm feeling.

“It is only going to help you sleep, I come in and check on you later,” Xavier said, kissing my forehead.

I closed my eyes sinking into the dreamless slumber. The darkness calmed my mind as I sank deeper into the void.
