“Not sure which is worse; holding on or letting go?”

Daisy’s POV

“How’s she?”

Lucien looked broken as he stood in the corner his head hung low in shame.

“Where is Alpha Smith?” Hades growled, ignoring his question.

I laid on my stomach, my back wide open with sores still dripping dark blood. I would only sleep for an hour before the pain began, burning through my lungs and bones.

“Gone, immediately you showed up,” Lucien growled.

“Who was the witness?” Hades asked in a gravely low voice.

Lucien sighed, running his hand through his hair in frustration, “Astrid,” he uttered.

Hades growled, his eyes darkening like a storm in the dark sea. No one moved, fear written across their faces at the presence of his wolf.

“he had invoked the old laws,” Lucien said, looking down in anger.

“I made the rules,” Hades hissed.

“Find me alpha Smith,” Hades barked out orders at the warriors that stood behind Lucien.

“Yes alpha,” they chorused matching out of the room.
