Chapter FIFTY

Myra's POV

Utter silence followed his words. Then the Elders began to whisper and murmur amongst themselves, increasing the tension in the room. I felt my heart jumping dangerously to my throat, as my fear spiraled uncontrollably.

Noah reached for my hand again and gave it a comforting squeeze. "Silence!" He roared, and their whispers subsided again.

"Yes, I admit to killing Reyna." Noah continued. "And there is not a day that passes that I don't feel regret about what I did. But Reyna should also have been watchful of her words!"

"Goddess!" Reyna's mother spat venomously. "So you're blaming my late daughter for your mistakes now, are you?"

"You harassed my mate!" Noah roared, his rich voice rebounding off the walls in echoes. "You ordered for the guards to grab her and lead her into the dankest depths of this very building—the dungeons! You did all of this, knowing fully well that I was indisposed and could not stop it on time. What do you have to say about that?!"
