CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

Myra's POV

"Where are we going?" I asked, a sense of unease washing over me.

"To the throne room." Noah replied, his voice cold and hard. "I'll bring those responsible to justice, Myra, I promise."

I halted in my steps. Noah stopped too and turned to me, his expression darkening.

"Noah, hold on." I protested weakly. "Don't you think you're taking this too far?"

"Myra, nothing is too far for me when it comes to you—"

"Just stop!" I snapped. "I've been in enough problems already! Hell, half the pack thinks that I'm a bad omen, that I have to be killed to save everyone else. I do not want—"

My words were cut short as Noah pulled me forward, and I hit his chest with a startled gasp. I looked up into his stormy gray eyes, feeling myself melt in the warm embrace of his hands.

"Nothing, I repeat, nothing is too far for me when it comes to you!" he growled, his breath warming my face. "I swear to the Goddess, I will find that guard who did this to you, and I will tear him limb from limb with
