I couldn’t take it anymore— even a cornered rabbit would bite back!

Lily suddenly hugged me, her voice soft and comforting. "Veronica, this can’t go on. Do you have any personal savings? Bring it out, and I’ll help figure out the rest. We can’t let your husband find out!"
