I gasped, stunned by his words, “What do you mean?” a crease of frown formed on my forehead as I took cautious steps away from him as though he wanted to take advantage of me, well,that seemed to be the case right now.

“Don’t think I’m trying to take advantage of you, believe me when I say that’s the last thing I’ll ever do.” His voice was gentle and flagged me with a sense of assurance that he actually meant what he was saying but I wasn’t about to let my guards down just yet.

“How do you expect me to believe those words after what you just said?” I frowned in confusion, staring at his blank expression as he didn’t seem to be at all fazed.

“I’m only trying to help you out.” He shrugged nonchalantly and turned to his side while pouring me some herbal tea and placing it right in front of me.

The tea had a strong, herbal aroma that filled the room. Its scent was rich and earthy, with hints of floral notes.
