Chapter 20

Isabelle's POV

The sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I groggily opened my eyes, the events of yesterday flooding back to me. I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt lingering within me, but then a second thought crossed my mind.

“Why should I feel guilty or apologize?” Besides, we're not in a real relationship, so why is Ethan acting as though he's my husband? I wondered to myself, my deviant self crawling up to the surface.

We need to clarify things because I didn't do anything wrong nor did Talia, with that in mind I hopped into the shower.

After taking a quick shower, I made my way downstairs to confront Ethan. As I entered the kitchen, I found him already there, sipping on his coffee with a distant look in his eyes. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation ahead.

"Ethan, we need to talk," I said, my voice more determined than I felt.

He looked up, surprise flickering in his eyes at the seriousness of my tone.
