Nabitha's POV:

In the dimly lit cell, I sat on the cold, hard floor, listening to the echoing sounds of the jailer's footsteps approaching.

I knew they were coming to taunt me once again, this time with news of Uriah's second child.

As much as I tried to suppress my emotions, the news still stung.

The jailer's sneering face appeared at the bars of my cell, and he spoke with a mocking tone, "Ah, Nabitha, I see you're still rotting away in here while Uriah and Xavier enjoy their happy little family.

How does it feel to know you'll never have that happiness?"

I remained calm, not uttering a single word. I had learned long ago not to give them the satisfaction of seeing me react.
