Xavier's POV:

I immediately summoned the pack members and relayed my suspicions. "Anya might have acted through a proxy," I explained. "It's time we find out who might have helped her."

Lucas and the others nodded in agreement, and the search took a new direction. We questioned every pack member, and it wasn't long before we found a lead—a young wolf who seemed nervous and evasive.

"Tell me the truth," I demanded, staring into the young wolf's eyes. "Did you have any involvement in Uriah's kidnapping?"

His gaze shifted, and he hesitated before finally confessing. "Yes, Alpha. Anya coerced me into helping her. She threatened my family if I didn't do as she said."

My heart sank, realizing that Anya's web of deception had ensnared others as well. "You will be forgiven if you cooperate fully," I said sternly. "Tell me everything you know about the kidnapping."

He hesitated, fear still evident in his eyes, but he eventually provided valuable information.

He revealed the location where Any

Uriahs POV:After my intense confrontation with Alpha Denzer, the days that followed were surprisingly calm and peaceful – or at least as peaceful as they could be in such a grim situation. I had made a choice, a difficult one, to act like a devoted mate to Denzer for the sake of my son, Arion. While I couldn't bear the thought of being intimate with him, I had to keep up the act to keep my son safe.Denzer seemed to give me space, and I was grateful for that. He didn't push himself on me, and I took advantage of this by keeping my distance whenever he tried to be close. I always found an excuse or pretended to be occupied with some task, making sure there was a barrier between us at all times. It was a delicate balance, not too submissive, but not too rebellious either. I knew that the moment I resisted too much, it could endanger Arion's life.In the days that followed, I spent most of my time with Arion. Alpha Denzer allowed me to be with him, and I cherished every moment we ha

I was a people pleaser. I love to make people happy and most times it happens at my own detriment. But then, the smile on their faces after sacrificing for them makes it more worthwhile.Perhaps, that was why I mated Tyler. Tyler was the alpha of Moriarty pack, I became his Luna to help him handle his pack better. Even though we met on a business basis, I eventually cared about him too with time and I tried to be a good wife as well. That's why I was in my room trying to find something sexy to wear for tonight when he comes back home. Maybe tonight he will finally see me as his mate and finally consummate our bond after 3 years of being together. I checked the time and it read 9:58pm. Tyler will be home soon. I was sure he would come home tonight because the Annual Gala was tomorrow. We were supposed to leave together at the venue to show we were happily married even though we weren't, to some extent. I adjusted the lingerie I had on as I faced the mirror. It was a black lacy bikini

I groaned as light from the window pierced through my eyes, I knew it was morning but I felt no motivation to stand up. Yesterday's discovery at the study still tormented me and deprived me of sleep throughout the night. I unconsciously pricked my ears to hear them even after I laid down on the bed, I heard them leave the study, shower in Tyler's room and Nabita leaving. It was painful to listen to but I didn't stop, maybe it would hurt me enough to make me fall into a very deep sleep that I would not wake up from. But it did the exact opposite, now I was awake with bloodshot eyes, an aching heart and no motivation to get up.Heavy knocking from the door jolted me from my thoughts, before I could ask who was that, the door swung open with aggression and Tyler entered fuming.“Why are you not dressed, Uriah? The annual gala is starting in a few minutes, how would it look if the host comes late? What is wrong with you?” he asked angrily.I stood up slowly with a blank face and faced Tyl

His eyes had a coldness to it that somehow pulled me in as I stared at it. He had sharp jawlines complimented by a pointed nose and thin lips. His black hair was gelled back and it was clear that he never skipped a workout because of the bulging muscles contained in a blue tuxedo.I finally realized my situation and hurriedly stood up. “Thank you” I said as I tried to regain my composure. He didn't say a word and only nodded, his face was still expressionless as he turned to Tyler and asked, “Are you going to start the party or do you want to settle your family issues first?”Tyler cleared his throat and replied, “Yeah sure, I'll start now” he then turned to Nabita and whispered in her ear, “Don't worry Love, I will help you vent your anger out later. I promise” She nodded and walked away while Tyler turned to me and said irritatedly, “Let's go”I nodded and walked behind him to the raised platform in the hall. As I walked I heard some conversations from people about Xavier and prick

I moved away from the lycan king immediately when Tyler's voice thundered behind us. I pricked on my clothes nervously not that I've done anything wrong but the thought of the lycan king been around me still lingered in my mind.I postured myself quickly as I came face to face with a bloodshot eyes of Tyler, if only looks could kill I should be six feet under by now cause his gaze is killing."What the hell is going on here?" He asked fuming out aggressively. Judging by his composure and attitude one could say he actually still had an iota of likeness towards me if not love. The thought alone gladdens my heart. I chuckled lightly seeing his reaction."So the mighty alpha who always acted cold towards can act jealous or is he putting up an act here?" I thought inwardly still confused on his sudden behaviour."I think am talking to people over here right?" He thundered again jolting me out of my thought."Uhm… you see there's really nothing you know…." I was cut short by Nabita who bur

"Don't tell me you're deaf now?" He smirked at me.All my life, I have lived it to serve him to my fullest. Yeah! I know I'm a people pleaser but at least I also deserve to be happy in life.My dreaded nightmare has finally come to pass…. Me becoming a rogue is far more better than the life I'm living now."Is it a crime of me not knowing who birthed me?" I asked myself while tears flowed like a river.By now my face is a mess but I cared less….. the pain in my chest is like a pang being struck deeply in my heart.I crutched down slowly holding my knees tightly to my chest while choking on my tears.I've never been humiliated like this in life. It feels as if the ground should open and swallow me up."Well its a crime darling and moreover you actually tricked me in marking you but now I'm going to the one my heart choose" he lashed out at me before storming out with Nabita strolling behind him.People started trooping out of the hall in three and two while whispering to each other, s

"But that's not a proper rejection," she said with eyes wide open while trying her best not to raise her voice."I know it's not but what can I do….. I can't possibly stop him which you know" I said trying so hard to act strong in her presence. One thing I hate to show to people is my weakness…. I was trained to be a man of myself though sometimes a little care and love isn't too much to ask for."Are you really sure you can handle this?" She asked me with eyes full of pity and care."At least it is far better than the insult I get every day from him"."Okay fine but you know if you need a shoulder to cry mine is always padded to absorb your tears" she added while we hugged each other.I waved her bye while shutting the door behind me. Yes I know I might have acted nonchalantly about the issue of him rejecting me publicly but can I really cope?....... I'm used to his insult already and I believe one day he will grow to love me for who I am."Well that day isn't coming" my wolf chipped

"Okay milady" she responded with a bow.I chuckled lightly at her gesture….. Well Tyler might not feel a thing for me but he trusted me with his meal which is more of an honor to me.I smiled gently at the thought, it seems I still have an upper hand than Nabita though I know I've lost my position already but am not ready to let go.I walked over to the hall where the banquet is to be held….. after each gala night celebration, the host alpha and Luna will hold a meal banquet in appreciation to the alphas and luna's that attended.Though ours was a mess and all thanks Tyler and his side chick who messed things up for him.Speaking of Tyler I haven't set my eyes on him since he left the gala night….. I guess that should be the least of my worries.I opened the door leading to the hall to see the worst scene of my life.I tried picturing it together but it did not work out, I had to hold on to the steel door for support so as not to fall flat on my face."Am I dreaming or I entered the wr

Xavier's POVI stood in my study, my mind focused on the task at hand. I needed to find Uriah, and to do that, I had to start from the beginning. My instincts told me that Anya had been hiding something, and I needed to confirm my suspicions."Beta Lucas," I called, my voice steady. Lucas was one of my most trusted advisors, and I knew I could rely on his judgment. He entered the room promptly, bowing respectfully. "Alpha Xavier, you called for me?""Yes," I replied, "I need you to gather a team of our best trackers and investigate the place where Uriah was last seen with Anya before she was kidnapped."Lucas furrowed his brow. "But Anya claimed that Uriah willingly left with Alpha Denzer on her own."I fixed him with a cold look. "Anya had hidden herself and her ambitions very well. She wouldn't make up a story about Uriah leaving of her own free will with Alpha Denzer."Lucas hesitated for a moment, then nodded in understanding. "You're right, Alpha. Xavier's POV:After the party celebrating Alex's first birthday, the little one was sent back to his room with the help of his nanny. Meanwhile, the elders, including Anya, and I had gathered for a small gathering. Food and drinks were brought out, but no one dared to bring up Uriah's missing issue. They all knew my temper, and they didn't want to risk annoying me further. As I took a seat at the table, the elders greeted me warmly. "Alpha Xavier, it's good to see you join us," one elder said with a smile."Yes, it's been a while since we all gathered like this," added another elder."I'm glad we can come together and celebrate," I replied, trying my best to appear relaxed.Anya, sitting next to me, chimed in, "Indeed, it's a joyous occasion. Baby Alex's first birthday is a momentous event for the pack."Another elder raised his glass and said, "To the future of our pack and to the health and happiness of our young Alpha."We all clinked our glasses together, toasting to the well-

Xavier's POV: As the days stretched on, the search parties scoured the forests and neighboring territories tirelessly. We followed every lead and pursued every possible clue, but Uriah seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth. Then, one day, as I was contemplating our next move in the study, I received a message that Anya wanted to see me again. This time, I rushed to her room with a mix of hope and anxiety. Upon entering, I saw her lying on the bed, her face still pale and her eyes red from crying. I approached her cautiously, unsure of what to expect. "Anya," I said gently, "how are you feeling?" She looked up at me, her expression filled with sorrow and regret. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she began to apologize profusely. "Alpha Xavier, I'm so sorry. I betrayed your trust, and I couldn't protect Uriah," Anya begged. “It's okay,” I said with a calm look as I looked at her . “I am suppose to protect this pack. But all that I have done is cause pains. I'm no

Xavier's POV:Days turned into weeks, and the search for Uriah seemed to be fruitless. Every lead we pursued turned out to be a dead end, and my heart sank with each passing day. Anya remained in a coma, and she was the only person who could shed light on what exactly happened in the forest that fateful night. One day, as I was discussing some ideas with the pack's scouts on how to track Uriah, I received urgent news that Anya had awakened. I hurriedly left the study room and rushed straight to Anya's room. When I entered, I saw her lying on the bed, her face pale and her eyes filled with tears. My heart softened at the sight of her vulnerability, but I pushed away my emotions, focusing on the urgency of the situation."Anya," I said coldly, trying to hide my own turmoil, "what were you doing in the forest that day with Uriah?"Tears streamed down Anya's face, and she began to beg for forgiveness. But I couldn't afford to be swayed by emotions. I needed answers. She stammered, "Uriah.

Xavier's POV:After the devastating encounter with Alpha Denzer and the truth revealed by Anya, I knew I couldn't face this alone. The burden of finding our son and protecting Uriah from further harm was too great. I needed the wisdom and counsel of our elders and betas. Gathering them in the pack's meeting hall, I laid out the situation, my voice filled with determination and sorrow."I called you all here because we face a grave crisis. Arion has been taken from us, and Uriah is in pain beyond measure. I need your advice on how we can handle this situation and bring our son back home safely," I said, looking into the eyes of my pack members, hoping to find some guidance. The elders and betas exchanged glances, understanding the severity of the situation. After a moment of silence, Beta Elias stepped forward, his voice firm yet compassionate."Alpha Xavier, we stand with you and Luna Uriah during this difficult time. Alpha Denzer's POV:Luna's defiant words lingered in my mind as I left her to stew in the darkness. "I will never be yours, Alpha Denzer. My heart belongs to Xavier, and I will fight you until my last breath." Oh, how she tried to resist. It amused me to see her struggle, but she had no idea of the depths of my determination.A week had passed since I last visited her. It was time to remind her of her precarious situation and the consequences of defying me. As I entered the dimly lit room, her fierce gaze met mine, but I could sense the fear hidden beneath her anger. Perfect."Where is my son? What have you done with him?" she demanded, her voice wavering just enough to betray her uncertainty.I took a step closer, relishing the opportunity to toy with her emotions.
