Chapter 144

Liam's POV

The silver on my wrist was no joke. I could even smell my own burning skin. It sizzled like meat on a grill and I wondered how long it would take for my wrist to fall off.

"Two weeks?" I mumbled. "Maybe three?" I thought to myself. "I can't be here for that long. That child is already pissing me off." Whenever I closed my eyes, I imagined ripping his head off. His scent still lingered as he had just left a few minutes ago. It had been two days now and he would spend thirty minutes talking trash to me and injecting liquid silver in my blood in his bid to weaken me.

It burned ceaselessly, I had to admit. It made my beast retreat and go crazy but what could I do? I had a goal here and I had to endure this much.

I heard the door open and his scent came to me first. It was already the third day, yet the lonely hours I spent in here made the seconds drag like eternity.

"Asleep are we?" That pride in his voice irked me. I must be a sight to see in his dungeon.

"You. Wake him up,"
