Chapter 52: On The Run

Grace’s POV

I suddenly heard cries of Evan and dropped the bowl I was holding, immediately running inside the hut we have been using as a shelter. He was sleeping while I decided to scavenge for food.

I saw him sitting down in the little crib I made for him, and he stopped crying immediately after he saw me, I picked him up from the crib and gently placed him on my chest while I patted his back.

Since we ran away from the pack and started living in the wilderness, we had no choice but to stick here. I have no pack to return to since we are rogues and I hope Lady Athena could come soon and save us.

Evan looks weak and fragile, he abruptly stopped breastfeeding and there is not enough food to keep him healthy. I sighed after he had fallen asleep and slowly placed him back in the crib, I needed to look for something for him to eat.

I looked at Evan one last time before I locked the door on him and walked away, I walked through the bushy part, looking for fruits that I could feed
