Chapter 56: Deathbed

Athena’s POV

I slept on the chilly floor with my son in my arms; the cold was so intense that I couldn't feel my blood flowing; I slowly opened my eyes when I couldn't feel my son move any longer.

I slept on my back with him on my chest since I didn't want him to feel the cold, even though I didn't have a blanket to wrap him in. Andrea didn't bother sending us food, especially for my son because she knows he's just a kid who will need to be fed frequently.

I promptly sat up and noticed my son struggling to breathe; it appeared that the cold was too much for him. I put my hand on his head and he was feverish; he had just had pneumonia; his mouth was shivering; and I was terrified; I didn't want anything to happen to my baby.
