Athena's POVI sat in my room, thinking about what Evelyn had said to me, unsure whether I should go forward and help her people. I haven't talked to Alpha Daniel about it. and I am not certain how appropriate it is to have this conversation with him.I gave up pondering and decided to get some work done for the day, so I went to my bathroom and took a bath. I sighed and hastily dressed up before deciding to head downstairs for breakfast. I headed down the steps to the dining hall, where I found Alpha Daniel eating breakfast. I sat alongside him, and he grinned when he saw me. "Good morning, Alpha Daniel," I said. "Good morning Athena, how was your night?" he asked. "It was fine" I replied and at the same time, the chef came in with my breakfast, I slightly bowed my head with a smile as a sign of appreciation before I started digging into my food. I sigh when I notice I can't eat much, and I was busy playing with the food. I groaned again as I heard Alpha Daniel clear his throat.
Athena's POV Alpha Daniel and I headed to his room; I sighed as we entered, and he sat on the side of the bed; I gently crept over to him and sat with him on the bed. "So, what's bothering you?"I cleared my throat when he asked. "Evelyn told me something, and I've been thinking about it and decided to tell you as well," I replied, and Alpha Daniel arched his brow. "Evelyn?" he inquired. "Yes, Evelyn. The woman in the pack's clinic," I responded, and he nodded gently, encouraging me to go on. "She is the daughter of late pack alpha Dawson, the pack alpha Gideon now rules," I explained, and alpha Daniel's pupils dilated. "Isn't she dead? She's been dead for two years now" Alpha Daniel replied and I slightly nodded. "Well, that's what alpha Gideon made everyone believe while he locked her up torturing her to reveal where their army's crest is" I replied "Isn't Alpha Gideon her mate, how can he be so cruel to her?" alpha Daniel said. "She found out they were never mates, h
Andrew's POV The downpour was stronger than I had anticipated, I grumbled as I looked out the window at the cloud, the world was chilly, shivers ran down my spine, and I felt bad about everything. I sighed and walked away from the window when I heard a knock on my door; before I could allow entry, the door was shoved open and Edna entered. The rain saturated her body, revealing the linen she wore inside. My gaze darted around her, and I quickly averted them. "I'm sorry, I was on the pack's farm when the rain started," she said, and I rolled my eyes. "You should have head to your room, you know?" I said, and she gulped down. She suddenly felt reluctant and shrugged. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking," she said, and my eyes fell on the floor, the water was dripping from her body and had wetted the floor, I groaned and moved closer to her. "Come here!" I said, holding her hand. I took her deeper inside my room and grabbed a shirt, I threw it at her and she almost fell while trying
Andrea’s POV I look at the tiny hole that the sun penetrated, and it felt strange; it was the most beautiful sight I had ever laid my eyes on, and I didn't think a day would come when I will miss the sun so much, and I couldn't lie, I felt exhausted and drained. I don't think I can last another few days in this cramped cell; I miss my independence so much and wish I could be free again, wearing my nice clothing and having people bend before me. I sniffed, trying to keep the tears from escaping my eyes because I am not a loser and I know I will be out of here soon, either now or later, but I won't stay here forever, I can't let that happen, and I also don't want to die in the hands of alpha Gideon. I saw the guards were unusually active today, so I assumed something was going on. I turned my head to look at Lucas, who had his eyes closed, and I wasn't sure if he was asleep or not. My throat was parched, and I really needed water; it was as if the guards had forgotten that the
Andrea’s POV I clutched the knife tightly in my palm, waiting for Alpha Gideon to make one wrong move, and I'd plunge the knife into the deeper recesses of his heart. He knew I wasn't joking with him, and my eyes became angry in a way they had never been before. I licked my lips as he raised his hands in surrender; I should have gulped down some water in the kitchen because my mouth was so dry that I had no choice but to swallow my spit. "Go inside your room, my eyes are on you," I whispered, and he gently stepped back inside his room, closing and locking the door behind him. I shut the door since I didn't want anyone to bother us. “How did you get out of the dungeon?” he asked looking shocked and I cackled. “You must think I am a fool, I didn’t survive in the wilderness being a fool, I have always known how to survive, and I will continue to survive without stopping!” I said and he sighed, his hands still raised. “Okay, I understand you, so tell me what do you want? You c
Athena’s POV “What are we going to do?” I asked Alpha Daniel spacing about in my room, he sighed and came closer to me to hold my hand, and I was barely stopping myself from bursting into tears. Evelyn had fainted after transferring the crest to me, and I kept looking at my palm, wondering if it was truly worth it. Evelyn had sacrificed her life and used all of her energy to transfer the crest to me. I know her people and the pack matter a lot to her, but I'm uncertain if it means more to her than her own life; if I had known it was going to ruin her health, I wouldn't have let her do it; she knew I wouldn't have accepted it if she had told me. "Calm down, Athena, everything will be fine soon, Evelyn will definitely wake up." Alpha Daniel said trying to calm me down, but his words weren’t enough to make me feel any better. “I hope so, I seriously hope so. I don’t know if these are worth it” I said and alpha Daniel moved closer to me holding my hands. “It's worth it, I promi
Andrea’s POV I focused my attention on the file in my hand; I don't trust Alpha Gideon, and he might have modified some words; when I was pleased with what I had read, I signed the paper next to his. "I'm done," I said, handing him the document; he gave me mine and took his own. "So, when are we getting married?"I snorted as he questioned in a mocking tone. "I want my brother to be taken care of right away, he's bleeding, and when I see he's fine, we can talk about other things," I replied, and Alpha Gideon's eyes were on me, his lips twitched, and he groaned. "Guards!" he cried and the guards rushed into his office. “Take Lucas to the pack clinic and make sure he is attended to immediately, he needs immediate attention,” he said, and they bowed before him and walked out of his office, I turned to leave, and I heard him clear his throat. Which made me tilt my head to look at him. “Where do you think you are going?” he asked, and I arched my brows at him. “Where do you
Athena’s POV The warrior’s camp was not as cheery as it always was since everyone was busy preparing for an imminent war. No one knew when the war would break out, but we do know it is coming soon, and everyone must practice with all their might. I walked away from the gathering exhausted; I had been exercising constantly for three days, thinking about Evelyn, and all I could do was express my rage about my training. "Excuse me, Lady Athena, the alpha wants to see you," someone said, and I tilted my head to look at the person, a guard standing before me, his hands clenched behind him. “Okay, thank you,” I said, and he bowed before me and walked away. I groaned and walked away from the training camp, going inside the pack house and going to Alpha Daniel's office, I gently knocked on the door and heard him grumble “Come in” I pushed the door open and went inside his office. I ran into him with several files on the desk, and he was with beta Carl and another man I'd seen seve
