Chapter 148: A Ticking Time Bomb

Athena’s POV

“What are we going to do?” I asked Alpha Daniel spacing about in my room, he sighed and came closer to me to hold my hand, and I was barely stopping myself from bursting into tears.

Evelyn had fainted after transferring the crest to me, and I kept looking at my palm, wondering if it was truly worth it. Evelyn had sacrificed her life and used all of her energy to transfer the crest to me.

I know her people and the pack matter a lot to her, but I'm uncertain if it means more to her than her own life; if I had known it was going to ruin her health, I wouldn't have let her do it; she knew I wouldn't have accepted it if she had told me.

"Calm down, Athena, everything will be fine soon, Evelyn will definitely wake up." Alpha Daniel said trying to calm me down, but his words weren’t enough to make me feel any better.

“I hope so, I seriously hope so. I don’t know if these are worth it” I said and alpha Daniel moved closer to me holding my hands.
