Chapter 97

Amelia drew in a deep breath.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. Her voice was rather more serious than it always sounded.

Sandra had a smile on her face but gradually, it was fading off.

"Is it a crime to come to a gathering of people where I am from?"

Amelia tilted her head sideways. With her nose she picked up a scent she was sure she had smelled somewhere else.

"Is that so?"

Sandra nodded her head, "Yes. It is so" She started to move as she made her way to Amelia.

"You know one thing, dear Amelia!..."

The crowd gave them space. Alpha Alex wanted to intrude but his beta wolf stopped him. "How about you let us see the end of this?"

Alpha Alex nodded. He stepped back, folded his arms, and watched.

"You know… you're always the center of my problems!" Sandra's voice was growing. It went from a lowly squeak to a commanding shout.

Amelia said nothing. She handed her child to a maid beside her. The child was taken to Alex while she remained where she stood.
